If you could go back in time...

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Yeah, it's because of Lost that I really became obsessed over theories on time travel. I used to like to watch documentaries on it and whatever but thanks to that show, I love to discuss it. :helpme:

I enjoy reading the Lostpedia forum sometimes. But they do tend to get really REALLY deep at times.

But I agree with you. Watching that show has made me think about things like that quite a bit too. Let's say I went back in time and tried to talk Julius Caesar out of weakening the Roman Republic (with my sad attempts to speak Latin or Greek... drawing pictures for him probably). But instead, I turn him into a power mad freak and THAT'S what causes him to go off the reservation to begin with. Sort of like when Sayid shoots young Ben to keep him from becoming the monster that he came to know years later, huh? And what led to Ben becoming a monster as an adult? Sayid shooting him when he was a kid! :1orglaugh

Interesting stuff though...

I would go back to the late seventies, greatest wooden clogs era.

I wouldn't go back in time to change anything, but to witness Julius Caesar's triumph and downfall, along with experiencing firsthand authentic ancient Roman culture, would be something else.

I'd also want to walk with the dinosaurs.

1. I go back to 1966 and watch England win the World cup and get a red England shirt.

2. I like to go back to medieval times and watch the battles unfold.

3. I like to go back to my earlier years to see what I did when I was young.

wow ok assuming this is paradox free, i'd go to victorian england 1880's-1890's
i'd go to the 60's and 70's for the hippies
i'd relive the 90's (cause they were awesome)
roaring 20's
renaissance maybe?
and i'd go back in my life and correct a few bits

November 1963. Tell JFK that it's not a good idea to go to Dallas. He'd rather go fishing instead.

thats a helluva change in world history. i think that may actually have some bad reprecussions

I'd go too,but I wouldn't change a thing.

What I would do is make sure I had a very high quality yet discreet digital camera with me,and take LOTS of pictures.

Settle that shit once and for all.

but here lies the butterfly effect in action, which is why before i said paradox free, no alternate dimensions and no fucking with the future

If the so called "butterfly effect" is to be invoked, then it leads into a whole new spectrum of possibilities-and rules.Considering the fact that even the most minute of actions affects everything, some type of consensus must be reached on what the "line" is to eliminate the hypothetical. Can anyone truly just go to witness, and not interact?

Or,I could say "settle that shit once and for all",at least in MY mind......find a way to prove my findings without giving away their source. It would alter the future, not the past.

....hypothetically.

So many possibilities....first I would make sure the Light Brigade doesn't charge on an artilery emplacement. Knock that gun out of Mark David Chapman's hand....Show up in that photo of Elvis and Nixon....and live in Porn Valley during the 90's.

to about 10 minutes ago. so i wouldnt make one of the worst porn stashing mistakes of my life. does this constitute a paradox? did i do back in time, start this thread to somehow warn myself, but it obviously didnt work. like terminator 3?

i don't think i would travel through time if i could, well to the past that is, i'd love to go to the future jump forward a million years and with my luck end up coming in during an ice age

I would take an assault rifle back to 1600s and see how it would play out...

:dunno:
