I think America is cut off.

Here is the problem I have with "America". The people that bitch the most about the government being "all up in their business" are usually the ones that expect that same government to take care of them. Every day I deal with people that don't want show an ID for smokes and cheap ass so called beer but have no problem waiting for that check every month. The worst part is that people that are busting their ass trying to get ahead through actually working hard can't get any help. A lot of these assholes that won't even try to get a fucking job look down on me because I'm a manager at a convenience store. Well, fuck them. Get off your lazy, government cheese eating, Steel Reserve drinking ass and do something. Yes times are hard, get over it.

The problem is that people don't want to see China get any bigger, they already think it's big enough. People know that China will be even worse than america.... It already is after all.
Not even the chinese buy their own childrens toys after all.
In the near future they may be equal to you militarily equipment wise, but unless they actually engage in a war they won't have the experience and i's the experience that makes the soldier.

What people want, and what they are willing to do or put up with are two very different things. Wanting is easy. Doing something about an issue a society doesn't like is hard is often left tossed out with the trash because it's inconvenient.

I also don't know what world you're living in, but when two sides are about roughly equal in technology, which China will be soon or at least close enough, and when one side vastly outnumbers the other and isn't afraid to use questionable inhumane tactics, experience, fighting spirit, and a noble cause don't mean shit, especially with a enemy that can be brainwashed into being fanatical. Even that's not taking into account the U.S.'s "experience" is overrated. That's stuff working to help people win only happens in movies. In real life the person that throws more bombs and bullets at the other person, all other things being equal, wins.

Man I have said alot of bullshit....But it will never happen, The US economy and China's thanks to the forces of globalization are getting so deeply intertwined that they will fucking need each other in latter years.

Yep short of some unforeseen disaster or enough hatters in a position of power with imperialistic desires or idealogical reasons(whatever the fuck they could be) there wont be no show down between the US and China/Russia.

There's a problem with that way of thinking. That only works if the U.S. can continue to pay it's bills or at least make other people think it can. Someday it's going to become obvious to everybody that's never going to happen. Everybody will realize we are never going to be able to reasonably pay off our debt either because it will literally get so out of hand it's impossible or it will effect the American people so much we will just refuse to. It could almost happen now. All we need is one more very bad economic downturn. When that happens there is no longer any incentive for that economic entwinement like it exist now, and the people that are big and tough on the world stage will start extracting what they think they are owed one way or another. That could be the total loss of all diplomatic leverage we have over anybody. It could be somebody like China making life a living hell for us on the world state, and even quality of life within our own country, with the fact they will then have more influence and everybody will owe them unlike with us. (Not to mention as time goes on we will depend on them more than vise versa.) Or maybe they will just start collecting what they think they are owed like the mob does when somebody doesn't pay. As much as I hate it they seem to know what they are doing very long term in that respect and are playing us like a fiddle. You don't actually think they, or anybody else, dumps all that money into us because of the kindness of their own hearts or because anybody is foolish enough now to thing the U.S. is a good investment. It's all for long term strategic advantages for themselves.

The Rumor of America's demise has been re-visited again and again, is unfounded.

Good luck to you in your search for interesting shit!

One thing though.......we have baseball......I fucking love baseball.....other than that, you can fucking have it. :thefinger

If there's one thing that's killing America, it's fucking stupid baseball!

Agreed. People want "freedom" but then they want the government to ensure they are absolutely secure from anything bad that may happen. That's aint how life works. :dunno:

But you see the point, yeah? When you live here, you forget very easily that there are 6 billion people on the planet....you'd think there are only 300 million. It's pathetic. It's getting to the point where I am becoming very rude to every American I meet, which is everyone.....since it's where I am stuck right now. Fucking bullshit.

Actually, we're rapidly approaching 7 billion, thanks to the Third World and their unadulterated mating habits. People in America today - you know, us that are of a working, blue-collar background - are absolutely getting hammered. And we're the great creators of the world. It's a bloody shame those that aren't lazy in America today can't afford to have productive children, while the welfare trash heap are procreating like roaches. :crying: I've seen it. I lived it. My parents busted their asses for 30 years each punching a clock and couldn't afford to have more children. That's not to say we didn't live middle class, it just is fucked, that's all. Now the majority of middle-class Americans have to have a two-person income to even get by.

We've become a country of lazy, spoiled, self-centered, ignorant little cunts.
We refuse to get out of our air-conditioned car to walk in the 86 degree sun to look at a rose bush.
We go into a do-it-yourself store and ask for help in picking up a 20 pound bag of grout.
We drive our diesel-powered gas-hogging pickups with polished beds, and bitch about gas prices.
We bitch about not having a job, saying we will take anything - but when that "anything" pays less than 15 bucks an hour, we collect unemployment...then complain further when we see "one of them thar illegals" doing the job we refused.
We bitch about our children being even dumber than we are (quite a feat), then make sure the funding for their education has been slashed so much, they have no chance of improving, ever.
We spend our time hoping that the god we have created will fix the problems we have created.
One of the purposes of a major terrorism attack is to weaken the minds of the people, to turn them against each other, and to make people fear their government. 9/11 did this in more way than the terrorists could have ever hoped - we are afraid of anything non-American, there now only seems to be "two sides to the argument", and people are so afraid of the government as to talk of armed rebellion (the ignorant use guns when faced with decisions they do not understand).
The top news sources are so remarkably slanted, non can be truly trusted for fair and balanced reporting.
The ignorant have become heroes, the intellects have become the feared.
We love the rich who became as such because of what daddy or granddaddy did, but fear the man who worked to his heights from the ghettos on his own.
We might blame the government and our leaders for our failures - but many of our failures truly come from we, the people. Too many are too content on being robots, following the directions, rules and orders of fools, rather than deciding on our own what is right and what is wrong.
Yeah, sometimes I really do think the U.S.A. is fucked and that our better years are long behind us.

Absolutely there are a lot of people that are fat, lazy asses. I think a lot of that is due to how are life has changed, in many ways for the worse.

Over all the greatest empires (Alexander The Great's, Holy Roman Empire, Roma -these two are different : Holy Roman Empire was in Central Europe, from the Xth to the 19th century- had their end,
America, as it was after WWII looked like an empire. Maybe this empire now comes to its end...

They all fall. We will fall. I don't really know if that's gonna be such a bad thing, ya know. How many countries do we have a military presence in? Our might is just spread too thin. :2 cents:

Of course I am assuming we will solve the energy crisis and deal with the fallout and damage control on global warming. The energy one is a given, Technology is being pursued by everyone to sort it out in the immediate short term with current technology and then on the long term with shit on the planning. The oil dung is just going and will do right up till the end because the entire global economy is based on it.

Yep short of some unforeseen disaster or enough hatters in a position of power with imperialistic desires or idealogical reasons(whatever the fuck they could be) there wont be no show down between the US and China/Russia.

The chinese just might be mad enough to do something stupid. Don't forget that this is the excuse for a government that passed a law against sparrows.
Yep, they passed a law against sparrows. Sounds like they're reasonable people eh?

PS> Now I agree on Hollywood and creative shit but thats only cause they got models of tried and tested shit(studios fault) which cashes in and milks it like fuck......Creative ideas and creative Americans surely exist they just aren't probably being allowed to break through. As for science and everything else, You still do allow quite alot of immigration. I bet if I had a big fat physics degree (masters) and was in research I'd get myself a green card tomorrow.(milking the life blood of Europe, a really old story)

PSS> this thread is just melodramatic.

.

Horse shit. Battle hardened veterans are MUCH better troops than raw recruits. On foot, on wheels, on tracks or on an ejector seat.
While the us has seen combat (albeit unequal in recent years) and has used the benefit of it's combat experience to train troops, what have the chinese got? Experience of supressing civilians in... Oh fuck I'm only four cans in and I forgot the name of the country.
Oh yeah, Tibet.

Gal...I'm beginning to rethink my view on your thoughts in this thread. When we make these Joisy losers celebs for sitting around all day in tanning booths, getting bad haircuts and going to the gym...."somethings reeeeeally wrong" in America.:crying:

The USA is dying politically and socially. As far as the entertainment industry goes, anytime there is a great deal of money involved creativity is going to suffer. The bottom line is about money and not the quality of the work. Read the book the American Theocracy by Kevin Phillips and you will know what you want and need to know.

China- Invasion proof
America- Invasion proof
Russia- Invasion proof

All down to size and the simple irrefutable fact that governments except the chinese( Mao) ignore.....Occupations don't really work. Well not somewhere where the folks have known only conflict and most of the populace is engaged in it ho chi minh style.

The chinese had a short conflict with india then they pulled back I do believe into their own borders.....Basically they where making a point.

Whereas america always has boots on the ground somewhere and is almost always shooting, somewhere. That gives american troops a big experience advantage over the chinese who almost never go to war.
I seem to remember India's army being a conscript army; if that's correct, they're not exactly A-grade opponents...

Hiliary 2020
Creativity here has died. Hollywood is just redoing crap...."it" was crap before, and is again, just with flashier effects and lower cut skirts.

Music is stale, and fading fast. The sixties had a definitive sound, the seventies had a definitive sound, the eighties had a definitive sound......the nineties it began to become jumbled....there were some cool bands.....and then that was it......it was like........

........as an American culture, one bred from fear and xenophobia, and superiority, we retreated....then, 9/11........and since then......well, I don't know how else how to put this......this country fucking sucks.

There are no jobs. Everyone I meet is scared, but they either don't know it, or won't fucking admit it. There is nothing to do. There is no one to meet. We have lost the "exceptionalism" that we clung to.....and you know what? It existed.....and it is gone.

We are isolated from the rest of the world. We are content to come home every day at four or five and retreat behind our garage doors and sip our troubles away.....never bothering to meet the people who live right next door....you know why? Because we realize that they are as boring as we are.....why meet yourself when you can just look at yourself in the mirror after five gin and tonics?

America as the world knows it is dying.....no one has the courage to admit it. America is dying.

America is dying.

America is dying.

Will it be destroyed? No. But I tell you this my friends. I want out. I want to hear music that I haven't heard for the last fifteen years on the radio......I want to meet people that have different accents than the obnoxious east coast or Oh My God west coast accents.....I want to meet worldly people....I want to meet the world......because here, in the sheltered confines of this bullshit.......I'm not meeting anything other than frustration and lies.......

One thing though.......we have baseball......I fucking love baseball.....other than that, you can fucking have it. :thefinger

i don't really think you want out.
you just want some satisfaction.
i know where youre coming from, i was there myself.
i was disgusted and disappointed by almost everyone and everything around me.
wasn't my fault, they made me feel that way.
so i found a place, checked it out, liked it although it has many annoyances.
organized my life, learned the language aas best i could and prepared for a change, and changed it.
but no matter what, you will always miss your home.
so if you really want out, get out, you can always come back.

You must have a very liberal definition of "MUCH better" let along "battle hardened", or let ego or national pride color your view of reality. Also that combat we have seen the last couple of years doesn't really do that much for a the training of a large scale war with a competent well equiped enemy. We won't be facing impoverished people that have nothing but AKs and live in caves and remote tribal villages (which even that we don't do well all things considered). I also don't know why you assume any soldiers we face will be raw recruits or won't have soon other action themselves by that point. In any case what do the Chinese got? Well when the time comes probably about somewhere between a 5-1 to 10-1 advantage in the number of troops with very slightly worse equipment. They will also have things like an air force and navy. Something we haven't faced in about 60 years as of now. Be sure to tell those troops how great they got it because of their experience and equipment gives them a 5% advantage over an enemy soldier when ten of them are raining death on him.

How shall I put this... Because I'm not american but am in fact rather opposed to a america, your ego and national pride colouring my POV of reality point is null and void.
Combat is combat. Afghans are always fighting, which makes them very tough opponents. When american (or any other troops face them) They get a good slice of combat experience. And by fighting someone who uses guerrilla tactics they learn guerrilla tacics, which will allow them to utilise them against the chinese.
You can slag off the AK47 all you like, but it is the real weapon of mass destruction and the worlds weapon of choice. It's reliable, more accurate than people give it credit for and it has a good chunk of energy behind the bullet, which means good stopping power..
The chinese haven't really seen the type of action the western world has experienced in Afghanistan/Iraq and besides which the populace aren't as much in love with the PRC as you might think. Every day people in the PRC protest, but if you ever watch chinese news it's all happy news; because anything to make the country look bad is suppressed.
Although the chinese will have a numerical advantage (and some of their stuff is superior to some american equipment) this doesn't matter too much when you consider that america has almost constant experience of conflict and uses that to train it's troops.
True, america hasn't faced a decent AF or navy in many years. But neither has China.
I'm not saying america, it's equipment or troops are great, but what I am saying is that when it comes to infantry (the only unit capable of winning a war) america has it better than china.
