I'm hoping that Dirk returns after a rest. IMO, too many of the posters who can joke around, yet still make posts that are informative, have left over the past year or so.

If the Board Rules are taken more seriously, maybe.

I agree with Harley. Without going overboard, I think the board was a much better place when there was active moderation. Now that the inmates are running the asylum, fewer people are getting banned - which is what some people complained about. So now, the ones who were getting banned aren't getting banned any longer... but probably needed to be banned anyway. At least a separate political section has been created so that Herr Storm Front has a place to post his endless, tiresome, wingnut drivel and conspiracy theories. If not for that, this board would now be a mirror image of another porn chat site, frequented by people who claim to be porn industry players and insiders. And just reading a few posts there makes you feel like you need to take a shower. Hopefully the FreeOnes mods will be unleashed again before this place gets that bad.

I disagree with all of this. I think we are much better off without the over-moderation that we used to have. I understand that I keep coming up on the minority side of just about everything around here, but I honestly feel we have a better board. It was always absurd to me that anyone who comes in through the main site had fisting, choking and pushing immediately viewable, but we got so utterly sensitive about content in here, or the way something is said, or some other bullshit. If we're losing people because they can't take a punch, anything from "so be it" to "good riddance" applies.

And as someone who yet again issued our esteemed Mr. Fisher another bitch-slapping, I still don't get the big fuckin' deal over this guy. Realize he's an idiot, realize you're not, don't stoop to his pathetically low level, win battle, blow smoke from pistol barrel before holstering. It works for me. It takes soooo little brain-power to make him run, it can actually be considered fun. It's a diversion....like crosswords....or sudoku. Only not near as difficult. Or entertaining. Or stimulating. Well, OK...it's shovelling shit with a keyboard. But it's still kinda fun.

I agree with you totally Rey. I have seen so many changes on the board in the short time I've been here & in my opinion it's not all been good. It is pretty much a free for all on here now like it used to be many years ago when I posted on here for like 5 minutes.
I left back then because I was attacked for some stupid thing by some stupid people & received no protection from admin or the mods. It made coming on here a chore and something I didn't enjoy so I left. It took alot of persuding from a friend of mine, that also posts on here, to come back as things had changed and that models were welcomed & protected from the tiny minority that try to spoil things for everyone. Now it seems that protection has gone again. I've grown over the years so the shit doesn't bother me anymore & I give as good as I get but there are at least 2 potentially great OCSMs that probably won't be back because of this and that is really sad. Freeones has something alot of other boards don't and that is the sexy OCSMs that give up their precious and scarce free time to come & interact with it's members. This is something I do not want to see disappear.
Sure there's plenty of OCSMs on the board at the mo but we all know why that is and we all know that in a few weeks we'll be back to the usual suspects on here & I'm worried that if only a handful of them decide to leave because of this the board is gonna suffer greatly.

This is obviously my view as an OCSM but there are other issues that have led to a number of good quality and nice members leaving completely. I'm sure that member numbers have probably gone up since this change but what sort of quality are they actually bringing to the board?

Now, I have been speaking to Dirk via PM and it is these issues that have pushed him away. I have been trying to persuade him to come back and I'm hoping that maybe he'll come post in this thread and maybe vent a little as to why after so many years he feels like he cannot post here anymore. But we will see.....
