I am excited for Mass Effect 2 -- I hope it delivers when it comes out!

What did we all think of Lair of the shadow broker?

Finished it last night and I was impressed!

I loved it and thought it was better than Overlord. It's supposed to be a bridge between ME2 and ME3, or at least one of the bridges. I had Garrus with me when Liara tagged along and I thought "just like old times". I have to go through it again with my Renegade, he's in a relationship with Liara.

I'm hoping to see more DLCs like it leading up to the release of ME3. I know I read somewhere that Bioware said they'd make more if the DLCs proved to be successes. Plus more DLCs gives my characters something to do after beating the Collectors.

I was in a relationship with Tali and Liara actually commented on it after the mission, almost in an envious way. Id love to hear how all the dialogue would change based on the teams, but that would take a dozen play throughs.

A big theory on the xbox forums was the shadow broker being Mirandas father, guess that was proved wrong. Roll on with more DLC!

It's funny, my Paragon was in a relationship with Ashley, but after that meeting with her on Horizon, I figured it was over. He's now in a relationship with Miranda and Liara sort of made mention about Shepard having Miranda in his life.

I know that Ashley sent me a letter about being friends but I think it's gonna be interesting to see how Ashley treats Miranda in Mass Effect 3. I actually hope Ashley does want to be friends and that she does want to join the team because she was a pretty good teammate in the first game.

Bringing back some of the guys was great, when archangel was unmasked as Garrus, I thought that was possibly one of the best moments of the game. Tali coming back was surprising but letting you romance her was brilliant. Those two moments really elevated the characters from just random team mates.

Garrus showed a much darker, dare I say sinister side, especially in his loyalty mission. I sooo wanted to see Tali's face, but Im not sure if I was pleased or disapointed that you didn't. Seeing her character so nervous and vulnerable made her seem a very real person. I usually romance her every playthrough, I havent with Jack though, I just dont like her very much.

How it all comes together for ME3 though....alot of questions! Id like to see Kaiden or Ash come back, Wrex as well. Given how 2 ended, Im not even sure if the Commander still works for Cerberus, he does turn his back on the Illusive man and steal his ship (Sorta) but the last dialogue option is "your on my team now" which to me suggests he still welcomes him as an ally.

We saw the reaper fleet and we know the odds he is up against. It would take the combined forces of the council races to make a stand. It would make great additions to see Kaiden or Ash lead the human forces, perhaps not directly but at least being the voice of them when it all happens. Wrex, Tali, even Legion, we have a major voice of the main and most powerful races weve seen so far. Theres alot of potential there!

My Paragon lost Wrex and Kaiden but I was able to keep my entire team from ME2 alive and I left the Illusive Man and destroyed that terminator robot. I'm hoping that I get to keep my team together and Ashley joins us for ME3. I'm pretty sure Liara can't join (for obvious reasons) but I hope she's a major contact in ME3.

I havent been back to the intelligence centre yet after completing the mission. The character I used to play through was one Id finished the main campaign with, so itd probably benefit me more to start a fresh and visit it periodically!

The final Mass Effect 2 DLC called "Arrival" will arrive on March 29. Admiral Hackett will have a major role and it will help bridge the gap between ME 2 and ME 3.

My plan before ME3 appears, is to start again from the absolute beginning, complete every single sidequest and develop the story to my preference before importing my character over to the the new.

Ive tried it as different character types, but nothing in my opinion beats a sentinel. Im torn over saving the council though, either way it doesnt actually impact the story that significantly to swing either way.

Any ideas on the release date for the third?

From what I've heard they're banking on around Christmas time this year, which isn't a surprise considering it's EA. Hopefully, it's not filled with game crippling bugs so that you can actually enjoy the game without having to wait for a patch to come out so that your saved games don't randomly get deleted.

You never know. Perhaps the Council decision will be important in the third game. If Earth is being attacked, perhaps the amount of assistance the other council species sends will vary depending on how you treated members of their species, including whether or not you allowed them to die. Probably not, but a chance. The third game could very well be the most epic game in history. Can't wait to head out with Garrus and Tali again to pwn some giant squid robots.

Garrus and Tali - My favourite combination!

Given what we've seen of the assault on the earth, its gonna take either something special, a galactic ace in the hole!

Or!

A united galactic effort to fight off the reaper threat. The combined fleets of the council species and more.

With or without the council, the galaxy owes humankind a big one for the battle of the citadel, however it played out with the council. We saw how many reapers are heading into our galaxy so a space battle wont be how this one ends.

The weapons are there though, we saw what that giant MAC gun did to the reaper you retrieve the IFF from. (Did anyone else recall the planet you scan in ME1 thats scarred by a giant cannon millenia ago? - Coincidence?)

What about the geth threat? Even if they were to help out we still have the huge issue of the migrant fleet. It would be great to see ME3 tie up all the loose ends and have the Quarians return home. But I think we are asking to much from one game.
