I think a semi-reasonable person would understand that it's implied you should not work until tested with an inconclusive test. Sergio from the testing service may have forgotten to tell you in the conversation or he may have thought he conveyed in his message that you shouldn't work until told.

If you got rid of all the escorts and drug addicts from the porn industry there wouldn't even be enough cast and crew to film a POV.

Even if (and it's not true, because there are a lot of girls and guys who care in this industry), it would be really short. The whole thing behind refusing to work with drugs addicted and escorts is not about punishment, but rather about professionalism and therefore education and, ultimately, safety. If you knew that you couldn't get work under the influence or with an escorting side job, you would probably tend to be more responsible. The mistake that everybody does when talking about porn is to consider it like an extra terrestrial profession which special codes of conduct apply to or not. Instead it's like any other job and business. Now, you wouldn't want to hire a well known escort as a surgeant or a drugs addicted as a school bus driver, would you?
I have nothing against escorting and prostitution, when they are exercised with free will and i don't care if people do drugs or smoke pots all day.
