I was let go from a company about 9 1/2 years ago for something utterly stupid. I was on the phone with a sales rep from another part of the state (i was in the accounting dept)- and under my breath i stated the word "****". I think I was distracted or was having a bad day- but I never directed it towards anyone. Anyways the lady told my boss for some frickin reason - and I was brought in to HR about two hours later and fired. Something about code of conduct- but that was a one-time fluke thing- I never had conduct issues before. I look back, and I really enjoyed the company - I haven't had a job with better perks/or pay since. I think they are hiring now. Do you think I should apply- would they even considering hiring me back? I don't think my old boss is there anymore- he might be retired- it doesn't matter. He was actually a decent guy- I think his hands were tied at the time. What is the usual HR policy on this- can they hire me back with me having a clean slate? I guess HR people would know..I don't like where I'm at right now, which is why I ask..TY
