Hiding your porn stash - share your stories

Hiding porn imo is getting more and more difficult, esp if other people use your pc now and again. given the more modern applications and operating systems, it is easier and easier to access video history, last saved directory, downloads, cookies. Also, due to indexing and searching options, anything incriminating can crop up when searching.

Imagine, a buddy of yours, or your parent, is using your computer to check their emails as they cant access theirs. they find your virus scanner is scanning the files of your porn stash and is showing the exact filenames it is scanning.

share your stories...if you hide your porn, how do you go about doing it. any covert operations ? or do you prfer to leave it for others to find.

If you want to hide your surfing habits on your computer use google chrome incognito mode.

Save whatever you d/l in your "my documents", create a separate user account with user rights only for others to use and your files are not visible to them when they NT logon to that account (profile).

Well, first of all- I don't have much porn any more, but I didn't hide it when I did. My wife watched as much as I did.

Second- if you have to worry about your parents finding porn on your computer, maybe you shouldn't be on an adult message board ;)

Third- nobody- and I mean NOBODY- would use my computer for anything without me at least being in the room. I've had a couple friends use my machine to check their email, but I've always at least been in the room. They would have no business digging around through my machine, let alone trying to hunt down porn on it. I have other things on my computer that are personal and private, and I don't want them viewing all those either. If you need to have my computer, you get me, too. I won't read over your shoulder, but I'm not going to be giving you "alone time" with my computer full of MY shit.

I hide mine deep in the windows folder, named it a file close to the name of one of the directory files. I have Vista, so it's set to where you open this folder it appears empty unless you click the 'Compatibility' option at the top of the window, then all of my porn appears.
As for the history, I delete it if there is even the smallest chance someone else might be on my comp, and after I look at porn.

I use a Mac and have a handy freebie bit of software called Secret Folder http://www.apimac.com/secret_folder/ its a lot easier to hide than it used to be!
I was leaving a flat I was renting years ago, the landlady turned up with a couple one morning, on the off chance it would be convenient for them to have a quick look round! Feeling slightly hungover from the night before, I said 'sure, no problem'. Only for them all to walk in and find two porn mags wide open on the kitchen table! :uohs:

I woulda picked them up and started talking about how pretty that clitoris is:D

As for hiding porn? I have a folder named "girls" and My wife even adds to it;) nothing wrong with showing off pretty artwork:)

I do love google chrome incognito :)

i heard of a pertty elaborate system the other day. one of my buddies who lives with his mrs. seeing as she is not a big porn fan, he installed Vmware on his machine, which allows him to access another operating system from his main desktop. on his second OS, he uses it to surf and download and store his stash. I asked him if it was hassle free, which he said yes. He said, i cant confirm this, that on your main OS, there is no way to track down what is on the secondary OS i.e by searching windows files. the only way someone can crack you is if they know the password to get into the Second OS. I think that is something i am going to do now :). has anyone heard of this....its like the batcave equivalent of porn !

Effectively the same could be accomplished by setting up another user account and limiting it's rights to "user" (as opposed to admin) in windows.

A separate user profile limited to only "user" rights would not be able to access or even view files located in another user's desktop folders (specifically c:\doc~settings\yourprofile\desktop\mydocu~)unless it was a program set to be available to all users on installation.

None of your internet history, favorites or cookies would be available to a profile with only "user" rights. If you were using google chrome incognito mode, none of that stuff would be saved to your computer anyway.

The downside is if the other individual(s) shared that computer on a regular basis they wouldn't be able to d/l or install new programs except for printer drivers. And I'm not sure if your files would be viewable if a search of the "c" drive were performed for file names/types.:2 cents:

I use an external 300 GB hard drive. On that, I use an encryption program called TrueCrypt. It's free. It encrypts and decrypts on the fly, uses something like 256 bit encryption. Pretty secure, IMHO. All my downloaded porn - pictures and movies - are stored there. I use a really long password that is easy for me to remember, but I doubt that anyone else could guess.

Wow. I personally don't store any porn as much of who and what I might want to see is readily available at any number of sites on the web.

My entire computer is encrypted with Pointsec...in case it's lost or stolen to protect business and personal data...but nowadays, why not just let some website use their space to store your porn and you visit their site to see what you're interested in?

i never hide it cause i just don't care what anyone thinks of me

mine is in my "faxes" file from efax... no one but me cares about those ;)

The only problem is if someone who shared that computer happened to do a simple search of media (start - search - for files or folders -pictures, music or videos) on your desktop (your login or profile on windows) it would produce all of your stash.

I run my own site and have a few blogs so I always have porn open on my computer! I'm either editing naked photos of me on the computer or adding photos of other models to pantyhose and webcam blogs.

I'm so used to it being there that I don't even notice if I've left something open so my friends or other random people get a little 'peek' every so often. Luckily I'm very open but my friends get embarrassed sometimes or don't know what to say.

Back in the VHS days, I used to put generic labels from blank VHS tapes on the labels of my porn tapes. Then I'd label them as old NHL hockey games from my favorite team. Dates and final score on there too. The old girlfriend never gave them a second look or was the slightest bit interested in their content. I could hide them in plain sight and never worry bout being busted.

lol i convert to dvd data discs and hide in my closet walls when something i want very secret. other stuff is just in a folder named "virus vault" so the others that may use my comp are usually too scared to open it.
if they search pics and vids...then im busted oh well

i need a burning media bigger than blue ray to back my stuff up :-( my paranoia sometimes kicks in and it has resulted me in buying two separate hard drives to back the same data twice :)

I put my porn in folders titled Documents to avoid detection. Good thing my wife isn't the curious type.
