I believe its mission only. I've not tried it outside of the mission. I can't even figure out how to rob cashiers at burger shot!

thanks after all that i looked again and saw that the post i was speaking of was only 3 before mine.
i usually go to the ATM and wait a few seconds for someone to do a withdrawal. then i beat em down with the bat and get "free" money. i do it a few times but ONLY after i save the game. the cops are right on you in this game most times.

That used to annoy me, but as I've played through the game, I've found little tricks to avoid them or to get less stars. One thing you don't want to do is kill a cop! 3 stars right away!

I kinda like the cops in this game now! At first I couldn't get away from em to save my life...literally! But after I figured out how to drive in this game and the tricks to evading the cops, I've now gotten away with 5 stars on 2 separate occasions! Still haven't done it on 6 yet...

I'll tell you there is more to it than just getting out of the search radius. Thats a start, but still not guaranteed. Makes the chases more intense, plus adds a hint of realism!

getting out of search radius is all i do.
if i am getting chased i get in a car speed as fast as i can down the straightest road and get out of the radius. then i stop,all returns to normal then i go about my game

what other tricks are there to evading?

If your deep in the radius, like 3 stars or more, take off one direction to get a decent lead on the cops then make a few sharp turns and it'll throw off their back up. If you listen to the police scanner they tell the back up what road your on and what direction your headed. So going straight as fast as possible doesn't always work!

I'll take a few quick turns as soon as the radius is centered on me, so they'll give the wrong info on where your headed. I've found that the backup outside of the radius is less likely to pick you up! Also pay attention to your map, they will show red and blue flashing dots to indicate where the cops will be coming from. A little thought and you can avoid em entirely!

Also when there are no cops near you, and you have the time, you can switch vehicles. Then just avoid hitting anything at all, and you'll be home free. If you successfully change vehicles and the cops didn't see you, then drive carefully and get out of the radius till your stars disappear. Thats how I got away on 5 stars!

Thats what I do and it works about 90% of the time! The rest of the time I just give up and let them kill me cause they will wear you down if you don't get away!

Get six stars and pause the game, notice the search radius for 6 stars is like half the damn map? Not literally but it feels like it!

I love outrunning cops, it's pretty much impossible to get busted in this game. I've only been busted once and that was due to what I feel was a slight glitch.

Hell, yea. Now instead of ripping you out of the car and busting you they just blast you through the windshield with a shotty and it's game over!

i have to try the switching of cars i thought that it might work but i never took the chance.

Eh, it's no big deal. I was getting a little burned out on GTA anyway. This will give me time off so I'll have a new fire for it when I get my console back! Good thing since all I have left to do is find the rest of the stunt jumps and pigeons. Both will be done with help from online maps! Also have about 16 cars left to deliver via text message for that achievement. So I'm not done with the game, but I could use a break from it for sure!

WOW too many ppl finish this game way too soon.
i take my time and do different things. don't always run through missions and stuff to finish the game. more power to the people who do.i had a friend who did that with Resident Evil 2&3. (i HATE this!) he would buy the hint/walkthrough book and as soon as he would get stuck he would go right to the book. he finished both in barely 2 days . i would take my sweet ass time!
OK now to Questions: i have killed only 2 pigeons so far in the game and i am actually looking pretty hard for em. i won't use no hint or strategy guide so where is the best spot to look for them? is there is system to their whereabouts or are they just randomly found?
and obviously to those who are ripping through the game i though Brucie and all the cut scenes with him were funny as shit. i like it even better when NB says to his cousin on numerous occasions "you.....are a dick!"

OH YEA bad luck to you Legzman...RROD eats dick ...never had it (knock on wood) and hope i never do.
i had technically the same issue with Xbox (original one) i had it for like 3 weeks and only 1 game would work on it. i tried calling MS but i had to pay for them to look at it even though it was BRAND NEW!
i traded it in and said fuck that system. ....Until STAR WARS: KOTOR came out then i had to buy the system again.

I got through it without using any guides. I'm using online guides to find the jumps and pigeons for the achievements is all! It still took just over a week for me to beat it. I was focused on the missions cause I liked the story, I wasn't rushing to finish it.

You should go to the comedy club once it's available to you. You can catch more of ricky and you can also catch some kat williams. Both are pretty damn funny!

I would say fuck microsoft too. But it's a good system short of the RROD problem they have! I've had no complaints for over a year now with this system, till today that is! I knew this was a possibility before I got it. I chose the 360 over PS3 cause of the cost! I have to have the best version of said system. So my cost was 400 vs 600.

oh i'm not saying the 360 isn't better. i bought it for the price over the PS3 price. plus the list of games available and coming soon swayed my decision.
and i didn't want to say FUCK MS i just had to because i got one of those original Xbox's back in the day that had issues and i would have had to pay for repair on a 3-4 month old system?!!!! i do say Fuck That .
but as i said the games that were coming out i had to get it again. i still own the old Xbox and PS2 and when GOD OF WAR III comes out i guess i'll be getting the PS3!!! :hatsoff:

absolutly! GOWIII is gonna be fuckin sick, graphically especially! Considering the first 2 pushed the PS2 to the edge and showed what that console was really capable of. I think that hardware wise the PS3 pwns the 360. But the games, right now at least are better for the 360. In a few years I'm sure that'll turn around to sony's favor!

i bought a PS3 a few hours ago... just for gran turismo and GTA4. i haven't gotten any games yet (if i buy them now i won't sleep for a while and i have to work all weekend), but i'm looking forward to it. all my friends already have it... i really liked the GTA3s (except for san andreas because you play as a Yoyo), so i'm hoping it lives up to its reputation.
