Ground Zero Still A Mess

We were attacked 10 years ago. Anyone know why ground zero still looks like ****? Why hasn't it been rebuilt yet?

Because it's Ground Zero. Whatever we build is going to be monumentally expensive and no one wants to pony up the cash. Especially these days.

To distill a complex response into a really short answer it's because building really tall buildings takes a lot of time, money, resources, cooperation between many parties, planning, political will, the willingness of the local community, among many other things. A lot of those things are in short supply for us.

Don't know what you are talking about. I go by there 3 to 4 times a week and one of the towers is almost up; outer glass and all.
Obama was there 2 weeks ago and they planted fucking trees all around the site.
I mean, after all, it IS a construction site.
What the fuck do you want........?

well lets see. they had to clear out the debris. they had to fix the foundation and slush wall. they had to come up with a design (and agree on just one). then they had to find the money for it. then they started building it. construction actually started in '06 and its supposed to be done by 2012 for a 2013 opening.
