(In early 1941, another interesting target was constructed southeast of Socorro. It was a scale model of the German battleship Bismarck, and was made of dirt with wooden logs for the *** turrets. This was built to train pilots from the Royal Air ***** in identifying the famous battleship at night. However, the Bismarck was sunk in May 1941 — before the "adobe" Bismarck saw much use. It is still there today.)

I love this website. Just put in a cell phone number and it zooms in on the location. I tried it out last week with my girlfriend and it was right on.
