Google Earth Picture Thread

Very nice post Doctor!
When I got down to less then 3,000 feet, you could start to see objects, or maybe shadows of vertically standing statues.
I measured one at 30 feet near the Northeastern coast.

look what i have found on an other site

40°44'50.49''N 73°59'11.99''W

go to abot 1500 ft alt.

there is thomething wrong with the buildings

Interesting optical illusion.

If you look at the picture with North on the top, it looks like a part of the building's top rear is missing.
If you rotate it so that South is up, it changes completely, and you can see it's a shadow from the building behind. What looked like the top of the building turns out to be the roof of the lower building next door to the West.

Wow! That is odd!

Wow! That is odd!

It fooled me for a second.

Afterward you can see that if the picture is, North on top, the building "with the piece missing", is leaning away in the opposite direction from all the other buildings on the street. I find I first tried to orient all the other buildings to lean in the same direction as the one with the missing piece.

In the second picture with, South on top, it leans in the same direction, at least after tricking my eyes.

Yeah what ***** me is when you see the way (like in NYC) how some buildings are leaning one direction but across the street they are leaning the other direction! Very trippy looking! LOL :D
