Update: Scott Hall Leaving Global Force Wrestling Possibly WWE Related

As noted, WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall was recently pulled from the Global Force Wrestling roster and no explanation was offered.

Al Haft of the I Believe in Wrestling Dojo at which Hall works has issued the following statement:

“There was some talk at Jersey Championship Wrestling that Scott Hall was pulling out of Global Force Wrestling due to the size they were becoming and not wanting to upset WWE especially after Hall’s WrestleMania appearance.”

WWE related or because he was drunk?

Unless Scott Hall is still employed by wwe, this shouldn't matter to them.

Video: Scott Hall escorted put of Wrestling for being drunk

Scott Hall was physically escorted out of an indy wrestling event in Asbury Park, New Jersey over the weekend after promoters claimed he was too drunk to be there.

Hall appeared to be drunk hours before his scheduled meet and greet at the Skate and Surf Music Festival and was given multiple chances to sober up before interacting with the fans.
Promoters told him to leave, but he refused and demanded to be paid. Security eventually removed him from the venue.

Promoter Ricky Otazu said,
“The event was too well run for us to make a fool of ourselves by allowing him to appear. We will no longer be associated with him until he gets his life in order.”

Hall is scheduled to appear for Global Force Wrestling for two dates in late June.

Jeff Jarrett teases an L.A. based announcement on GFW television, comments on AJ Styles joining WWE, whether he got closure returning to TNA

The Rack radio with Jeff Jarrett
Hosted by Lindsey Ward and Sir Rockin
Audio interview available at Wildtalkradio.com

How UK Audiences compare to others around the world: “Obviously each country has their cultural differences. You go to Japan the crowd reacts one way, you go to Mexico they react another. In the United Kingdom we call it Soccer, they call it Futbol, the Futbol crowds are very very rowdy, I think from a cultural point of view there is a lot of rowdiness to it, but when you meet folks in the Meet & Greats, they are very knowledgeable of professional wrestling and the history of professional wrestling. I guess I would say that the momentum has been building for years and years now there (in the United Kingdom) and now the Independent Scene is just red hot there.”

Update on the GFW Amped television product: “There is a lot of updates, we will be having an update, in what I like to call LA based here if not this week, for sure next week and that will be a game changer that is for sure for us. I am very excited to spread the news. On the international front we are going to continue to work the contracts. Amped is coming to your television sets to your home very very soon.”

On Nick “Magnus” Aldis being the first GFW Champion: “Nick checks a lot of the boxes I will say that as far as from bell to bell being a phenomenal wrestler, very personable at the meet & greats with kids and people of all ages. Many years ago I took him to India with me, I know before then but over there we shined a real light on him and as we say in the business, he took the ball and ran with it and was very successful. Nick has earned it, he’s a special talent, but he has earned it as he has earned everything he gets because he works hard.”

Going back to TNA and was closure needed: “I don’t believe closure was needed, if you ask my wife Karen (Jarrett) she got closure and she thinks I got closure, but for me I try to do my best and not look in the rear mirror and look forward. I knew it was a great opportunity to create brand awareness for Global Force Wrestling. I can look at our digital numbers and know it was a success. Not only were we exposed on Destination America to millions of fans but all around the world in India, all throughout Europe, South Africa and just everywhere TNA’s footprints are, the Global Force Wrestling Brand was exposed and that was a big success.

On AJ Styles joining WWE: “Last Year when we went over to New Japan and brought Wrestle Kingdom 9 here, me and AJ got a chance to reconnect and that was fun, what a spectacular event that was for us, Wrestle Kingdom 9 was a tremendous success. AJ has always had the skill set and as you said, had a lot of success in Japan. They did the deal where they brought me in to the Bullet Club and that was a lot of fun. The timing was right, WWE is the leader in the market place for a lot of reasons, they like to do things the right way and they saw the opportunity to bring the phenomenal one on board and I couldn’t be happier for his success.

On being apart of WrestleMania: “Everyone of of them is special, as it is the grandest stage of them all. You can pick the one in Philadelphia (WrestleMania 15) where I teamed with Owen (Hart) was special, my intercontinental title match with Scott Hall (Razor Ramon) in Hartford (WrestleMania 11) was special, all of them I enjoyed.”

Global Force Wrestling makes history with Music City Bowl game

Global Force Wrestling will become the first wrestling promotion to partner with a college football bowl game when it provides a night of entertainment for the teams participating in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl in Nashville.

At this private event, players, coaches and team officials will have a chance for a meet-n-greet with GFW co-founders Jeff and Karen Jarrett, Hall of Famer Scott Hall and other wrestlers and then settle in for an exciting card of wrestling action.

“Give all of the credit to the folks at the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl,” Jeff Jarrett said. “They approached Global Force with the idea of giving the players something different than any other bowl game, and I think it’s a perfect fit. Males, 18 to 24, are a huge part of our demographic, and we’ll be as hyped to put on a great show as they will be to see one.

“There are a lot of ties between football and wrestling. So many great football players at the collegiate level have come into the ring and been successful when they put the cleats away. Who knows, we might have a future wrestling superstar in the crowd that night.”

Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl President and CEO Scott Ramsey said the game is always looking to provide entertaining and memorable events for the teams that travel to Nashville, and this is just another step.

“This is innovative and something that will be memorable for the players, and we are excited about the partnership with Global Force Wrestling,” Ramsey said. “Jeff Jarrett is a Middle Tennessee native, and we know he has been in the wrestling business for decades. We are confident that this event will be one of the highlights of a great week of events that culminates with the 19th annual Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on Dec. 30.”

Cody Rhodes Wins Global Force Wrestling Nex-Gen Championship

Cody Rhodes is the new Global Force Wrestling Nex-Gen Champion after defeating Sonjay Dutt tonight at WrestleCade’s Showcase of Champions in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Cody spoke to the crowd after his win and shared some advice from his father, saying sometimes the title makes the man, and other times the man makes the title. Cody said he intends to find out which man he is, because tomorrow night he will defend the Nex-Gen title in Edmonton for a company (Prairie Wrestling Alliance) that is not GFW. He continues by saying he will defend it week after week and the difference between them and him is that when he says he is an independent contractor he sure as hell means it. Cody then closes by thanking the crowd for coming and greets the fans before leaving.

Dutt’s reign ends after almost holding the title for a year; he defeated PJ Black for the title back at last year’s WrestleCade Showcase of Champions on November 27th, 2015.
