Games Of The Year - 2007

As it's almost the end of the year, I was going over the releases of 2007 and picking the best of the best games, mine were:

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (best tactical shooter)

Halo 3 (best sci-fi shooter)

Crackdown (most fun)

Mass Effect (best RPG)

Mass Effect (overall Game of the Year)

Anyone else have any favorites? Any console / PC titles will suffice that were released in 2007.

The award for most over-hyped goes to Halo 3. Which in my opinion deserves nothing at all, unless it gets the award for multiplayer.

Hey guys don't forget Army of Two that still to come out and i predict that it will be big !! no doubts if it will be game of the year worthy that will have to wait to been seen but i am expecting big things from it, but for my overall game of the year has to be Mass Effect by a long way !!

Yes, it was a great game, but it came out last year.

I hate to put things in lists as they're hard to compare, but I think Bioshock deserves to get some kind of reward. Halo 3 was just a great sequel, nothing more nothing less. Same goes for Super Mario Galaxy, which despite being a good game feels like an extension of Super Mario 64. Mass Effect was nothing new either, it just polished the KOTOR concept to a degree of perfection.

Bioshock however felt fresh and special. And it was an awesome game, both concerning gameplay and content.

Overall, this has been a lovely year for video gaming. Too bad there won't be much left next year. I'm predicting a rather dry season up ahead.

Sadly, most of those will be delayed or huge disappointments.

Looking forward most to Soul Calibur IV and Devil May Cry 4.

By the way, what the HELL is Legendary: The Box doing at place 15?! That game looks like a Malaysian ripoff made by some pirates.

What the hell has happened to Crysis?!

1. Crysis (god-like game. give it a chance)
2. Orange box (TF2 is the only game worth playing)
3. Call of Duty 4 (pretty good)
4. Company of Heroes: opposing fronts (Seems to have faded away into the distance)
5. N/A (been playing other games that we're released before '07)

I agree with most of the above posts mentioning CoD 4, Orange Box and whatnot. I have another one to add to the list though: The Witcher. Awesome game, despite a less than perfect combat system. Just make sure you get the uncensored European version...
