Game of Thrones

Land of wine and Sand Snakes. Remember Yara's pirate fleet was attacked and destroyed on route to pick up the Dorne Army. Now that the Queen is captive and her daughters are dead (a waste of some world class tits; ) who knows who is running Dorne or where the army is because they could have marched anywhere by now.

I know; I was being sarcastic. The show has paid scant attention to Dorne.

We see undead Hodor.

Pretty sure that can happen. And it would be so sad.

I was worried Cersei would pull something at the parlay. Isn't in the lower level of the Dragonpit Cyburn (sp?) built the scorpion? Can't imagine they'd only have one.

Very satisfying episode, even cleaning up that annoying storyline between Arya and Sansa. Great performance from Aidan Gillan.

Great ending of this season.

I did wonder why Jamie did not take the rest of the Lannister army with him, if he felt obligated to hold up to their vow to help out the north, what's he going to do on his own and besides he was the leader of the army.

I assume Bran told Sansa and Arya what Little Finger had been up to, how else would they know, but I wish they had added a little scene confirming this.

Bran's role is a bit underwhelming, if he can see all he could have known the nightking would melt down the wall and warn people about it but I guess that would be too easy.
Nevertheless, if the 3 eyed raven is such a powerful being then he has not done much yet.

And now the wait begins... :(

that one iron born dude who kicked Theon in his vag over and over had the right idea - take over an island. The dead can't swim, and unless they have the wherewithal to build ships and navigate, the dead are pretty much relegated to westeros. unless the night king flies to other continents and goes on a killing/raise the dead spree. Maybe I'm misreading him, but I just don't see him as that ambitious. Emilia Clarke said she wasn't going to go nude anymore so no more tits and ass shots from her. Not even side boob while she and Aegon were doing what Targaryens do.

A couple of episodes ago I said this is the coolest thing I've ever seen on tv or film. That has once again been surpassed by the night king riding on the back of his undead dragon and bringing the wall down with blue fire. that was awesome beyond words.

and that sansa/arya side story wrapped up nicely.

2019 here we come.

I would say because he's directly going against the wishes of the crown, he wouldn't trust the men under his command to not turn on him, and he wouldn't rate his chances of marching them out the door without Cersei noticing and stopping them. He might have had a chance were it not another Lannister on the throne.

I just watched the finale last night.
I also haven't watched some of the more serious yootoob breakdowns about each episode that I usually watch.

Jaime? Was he leaving Kings Landing at the end? And it was snowing?
I'm surprised she would let him leave at all, nevermind with some or all of the army.
I was ready for Jaime and Zombie Mountain Klegane to fight. That would have been great (if Jaimie won).
2nd best swordsman alive when he lost his hand I believe, him and Selmy.
Beating down the Mountain would have been a real confidence booster.

Yeah Bran must have told his sis's about Baelish. About the wall, He can't see the future. He would only know they were almost there and with a freaking dragon.
Whitewalker dragon, holy a fuck thats a gonna be a tough a one.

And Bran should have known who john was (not a bastard) and that Lyanna wasnt abducted like Fat Robert told everyone.
He saw the fight at the Red Keep and his father and aunt and the baby. He should have researched more.

So Roberts Rebelllion was based on a lie.
Neds father and brother died for nothing along with so many others.
Rhaegar and Lyanna should not have kept their love a secret.
So he was married to a Martell and she was bethrothed to a Baratheon.
He could have divorced and she could have told Fat Robert to fuck off.
By running away together in secret they should have known what would happen.
I wonder if anybody alive now knew of there marraige at the time.

I loved seeing all the big characters together at once. Cool when Sandor saw his brother. He really does hate him.
And seeing Brienne and Sandor meet again was awesome.
And finally, does anybody think Tormund and Beric survived that? And where the heck is Gendry again?

Jamie couldn't have killed zombie mountain, I think eventually the Hound will get the honors or at least, I hope so :D
I thought the Hound was an asshole at the beginning of the show but when he saved Sansa from that bunch of rapists in Kingslanding (So long ago already), he started to show he's not as tough as he makes himself look like. The actor does a great job.

I think if Thormund and Beric died it would have been shown more prominently, same for Gendry.

same. if they had died, they would've shown it.

Tormund still needs to get it on with Brienne and raise great big monsters.

They never showed Brienne killing Stannis, but that was different. Stannis had no hope so viewers understood that he was a goner even without seeing the death.

I predict that we'll see Tormund climbing out of ice rubble early next season. It'll feel a bit cheap consider a fucking mountain just fell on him, but if it means that Tormund will be around for a bit longer, I'm cool with it. I think there's a chance that Beric will be killed in the fall, making it so that it's not a complete extremely unlikely near death escape for both of 'em.

Or...

BOOK SPOILER...kind of.

In the books, Beric gave his life to revive Catelyn Stark because Thoros refused to resurrect her. So it could be a situation where Tormund is killed in the fall and a barely living Beric "passes the flame" to him before dying for the final time.

not necessarily. maybe I have to watch it again, but there's that whole part of the wall that's still intact.

the night king is the "one ring" in tolkien parlance. take him out and the rest falls.

I have to watch again as well, but it looks like Tormund and Beric were on the section that crumbled. But it was (probably intentionally) hard to pin point their position for sure.

The popular time-bending theory is that Bran is the Night King (and Bran the Builder)so some are starting to think that killing Bran would act as killing The Night King himself. I really thought that the show would wrap of all the Westeros/Cersei drama before the final battle/ Long Night with the undead takes place, but now I have no idea. Eastwatch is still a long march from Winterfell, but a dragon could make it there in no time at all. Shit could get real ugly in Winterfell days before Jon and Dany get there.

I think the scene with Sam gave us a little bit of what Bran can do. He may be all-seeing but he needs to know where to look.

The season felt rushed, but I loved this episode.

Tyrion at the end though. Did he make a deal with Cersei? Is he jealous Jon might have Dany's ear as well as her heart? Does he see their mashing as complicating her campaign?

I think it was more a look of concern. They're heading north and it was bad enough that Jon is returning to Winterfell having bent the knee to a Targaryen. Between that and the fact that he's fucking Dany, the people of the north might find that an incredible insult and turn their back on him.

The Northerners and lords of the Vale were already having doubts that Jon left for Dragonstone, staying there for months in order to win the alliance of the daughter of the man who killed Rickard and Brandon Stark (Ned's father and brother) so for Tyrion knowing that Jon'll arrive in the north with love and blind allegiance causes him a significant worry.

If Tyrion did strike a deal with Cersei (maybe promising her that Cersei's baby will inherit the Iron Throne when the barren Dany dies) I don't think that it came with the knowledge that Cersei would betray the realm and keep her army (and the Golden Company) from fighting the Night King. So if there was a deal, I think it'd be the least of Tyrion's concern's at the moment.

By the way, the Cersei's baby deal thing is only something to consider since, in one of the last episodes, Tyrion argued with Dany about choosing an heir in the event of her death. It was too random to be coincidental.

I really think Tyrion is worried about the reaction of the Northmen. Understandably so, for all the reasons mentioned above. Another thing is, the threat really feels real. I don't see how the living can win this one...

So many good posts, so many possibilities.
I think either Sandor or Brienne will kill the Mountain....or maybe a white walker Giant.

Beric and Tormund must have survived, at least Tor. If they kill off Beric like that I will be bummed.
Bad enough how they killed off the Great Thoros of Myr. He deserved better.

Tyrion did not make a deal with Sersi....at least I doubt it. He knows he's already on thin ice with Dany.

And I think he looked troubled about Jon and her doing it because for one its not a good thing to do right now.
Now is the time to fight not fuck.

And finally was Gendry at The Wall when it fell and did the Hound ever give him back his War Hammer?

PS Been watching the show again from season 1. I'm about 3 episodes in and realized almost all the dialogue is directly from the book.
Ned should have refused Fat Robert especially after Bran fell.
Ned only called Queen(consort) Sersi That Lannister Woman.
Sansa really was a scared little girl.
And Joffrey.......he really was a cunt.

A question for all:
Do you think Ned knew that his sister married Rhaegar?
Or if not did he at least know that she went with him willingly?
I think she probably told him everything before she died.
That they did get married and to protect Jon (aka Aegon) mainly from Robert Barathen.

( Funny how she named him Aegon. Rhargar already had a son named Aegon with Elia Martell.
The time order was: Robert Killed Rhaegar in single combat- Lannisters Sacked Kings Landing, Jaimie killed the Mad King and the Mountain killed Elia and her and Rhaegars 2 children including Aegon. So how would Lyanna know the child Aegon was dead if she was locked up down in Dorne?)
If she didn't know then why would she name her baby the same name?

Ok so if Ned did know the real story about his sister, Rhaegar, and the baby Jon do you think he should have told Robert right away?
