Fox Media Bias Thread

I give O'Reilly credit for at least having people on his show from the opposing side and then debating/arguing with them.

You can't say that about Olbermann. He's never had anyone on his show ever who isn't already a total left-wing liberal.

Because the format of Olbermann's show isn't that he's typically debating an issue. His show consists primarily of countering spin and covering misinformation.

I doubt having Janeane Garofalo on to talk about how conservatives are less intelligent than liberals counts as covering misinformation.

Again Olbermann's show isn't that he's typically debating an issue. I suppose I should update the fact that his show consists primarily of countering spin, covering misinformation and conducting interviews.

i wouldn't really say he debates them. he more talks louder than them the instant they say something he doesn't agree with. he also is good at talking over them as the interview segment ends to make sure he gets the last word in. :D

All of the cable news networks seem to have some bias and agenda in their reportage. What is the big deal? They all seem controlled by greater corporate interests that would like to control our thoughts. What is surprising about the various biases? The powers that be count on us arguing over these positions to keep us separated from any real problems.

That is the play book for all GOPers ask you questions based on false narratives, loud talk you when you don't respond with the cookie cutter response they've tried to angle you into then (here's the best part) they rant about the point of view they wanted you state before asking you another question based on a false narrative.

There have been some good things said and astute posts made by you in the past, but that was the lamest crap I've ever read from you.
Did you start on a new medication? It's not working...:(

Ya know, I seem to have lost my election results notes...how many votes did R. Paul end up getting?
For some reason I cant remember how many million he got...or that Fox News Corp had their own Presidential debate.
When was that?:dunno:

fox had their own debates through out 07 -08. they finally banned him in 08 in their last debate. dont remember how many votes paul was to have reported to have gotten, but i think it was around 1.3mill. i dont believe that for a second. hell, i think i saw more rp bumper stickers than the reported vote lol.

Was Obama interviewed, let's say, the way Katie Couric interviewed Palin?

Sad world we live in when a beauty queen in a beauty contest (Miss California) gets harder questions than a Democrat presidential candidate.

ha. obama never got a hard question that i remember, and even now still gets away with killing our freedoms. which btw is just a continuation of bush.

He got asked several tough questions in the O'Reilly interview.
Certainly a heck of lot tougher than, "what newspapers and magazines do you read regularly?" or "why do you consider your geographical proximity to Russia a part of your foreign policy experience?"

Palin didn't even know what the Bush Doctrine was, then compounded her woes with a completely transparent, agonizing attempt to bullshit her way past that.

And Obama did pretty well in debates with McCain who had every opportunity then to ask Obama whatever he wanted.

On Palin I remember I had youtube vids of her interviews with Couric up back before the election.Couric was interviewing both Palin and Biden seperately but identical questions.Palin was awful, couldn't name one supreme court decision besides the one Couric had already mentioned (Row V.Wade).

For people to even begin to compare the intellect of an Obama and a Palin is really a stretch.

I mainly read the l.a herald tribune or the n.y times or even the guardian, much less filled with shit than some well known news channels.

Since Rush Limbaugh is on his way to taking control of the GOP--how will Fox News respond? Will they go even more into inducing "fear" into their news story coverage? Will they go even further into smearing Democrats since Limbaugh, presumably, would embrace that tactic?

My sense is that Fox News will turn even more sensationalistic, fear-mongering and baiting and less into actual factual news coverage.

Won't Limbaugh bring "shock radio values and quality" toward the mainstream GOP? Won't Fox embrace this?

Nope...nice (sorta) try.
Rush isn't a head, or an ass, or a leg of the GOP...he's a Radio Personality who gets a lot of listeners. Lots...
Mitt Romney or Gov. Huckabee are heads of the GOP, Michel Steele is a head of the GOP (literally), Rush and Hannity are peronalities...cheerleaders if you like.
Is Jeanane Buffalo the head of the Democratic Party? She has the credentials and the philosophy down...:D

I believe it was a NY Times "journalist" who asked him that one. Honestly..

The same bias media who laughed when he said "cinco de quatro" but couldn't follow up with a question like maybe 'Mr. President, you chastised Americans for not knowing how to speak a second language yet when you wanted to say quatro de mayo you said cinco de quatro. Are you yourself fluent in a second language, and if you are, will you answer this in that language?'

Unreal? Yes.
Real? Very.
