7 for 7! Its Lewis Hamilton in the front in Montreal! Grosjean takes second and third place goes to Sergio Perez!

Historic Hamilton wins Canadian GP
Victory for Lewis Hamilton at the Canadian Grand Prix marked an unprecedented seventh different winner in seven races for the 2012 season.

Fantastic season so far. Another great race with some actual racing and overtaking. It looks like they got the DRS zone just right after fears that it was going to be too short.

If you don't like this F1 season, go to the doctor and have your pulse checked... cause you're probably dead.

Hammy!!!! :nanner:

Interesting fact: Hamiliton either wins at Canada or crashes and has to retire....LOL

But I'm glad to see McClaren got it right this time (or mostly, pit stops still aren't very polished imo). Also was very happy to see Grosjean do so well as well as Perez. Bout freaken time for lotus and sauber to get a break!

I'm seriously interested to see who's going to win this championship, and if we can get yet another driver that hasn't won previously to win next race. LOL

The continuing sad saga of the McLaren pitstops confuses many. For such a well funded and (typically) polished team to look more like a back-marker IRL team, when it comes to pitstops, is weird! If not for the dud pitstops, Hamilton would probably have won at least one more race by now. And I believe they've muffed at least two of Button's pitstops too! What's the deal???!!

But sounds like Sam Michael has an answer, or at least some motivation: ****!!! :nanner:

Motor racing-**** an added motivation for McLaren mechanics Premium Link Upgrade

(Reuters) - McLaren's sporting director Sam Michael has taken a refreshing approach to his Formula One team's pitstop problems by promising that the beers will be on him once the crew average three seconds a stop.

Pitstops have troubled the British Formula One team all season and 2008 champion Lewis Hamilton suffered some glitches again in his two stops on the way to winning in Canada on Sunday.

With no time-consuming refuelling allowed during the race any more, mechanics aim to complete a tyre change in under three seconds while a driver in Canada can be in and out of the pit lane in 21 seconds under a 60kph limit.

"Obviously we put a lot of effort into our pitstops, it's almost like a football team now, the way that we put the energy in," Michael told Sky television at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

"We were regularly doing two and half second pitstops all the way through practice this weekend.

"The challenge is for them to beat three seconds, and they've got a massive motivation because I've already offered the whole team a round of beers the moment they average a three second pitstop," he smiled.

They failed to achieve that on Sunday but Michael said the times were still a big improvement.

"The first stops were so good that both drivers didn't react in time so we lost reaction time because we dipped about five tenths quicker than we have ever done," he said.

Hamilton recognised that he might have been at fault on that one, with the car going into anti-stall briefly when he released the clutch.

On the Briton's second stop, there was a brief delay on the right rear wheel - long enough for Hamilton's singer girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger to bang the table in exasperation as she watched in the garage.

Michael cleared the mechanic of any blame.

"Our right rear gunner, who is actually the fastest gunner, the re-cock mechanism on his *** didn't re-cock basically. So when he went back on it was still in off mode. So he had to modify his *** and go again," he said.

"He's our best guy and actually hasn't had a fault all year. Because of his experience I knew he'd recover it and he did."

The rear-left had been in the spotlight previously, responsible for sluggish stops in Bahrain and China for Hamilton and Jenson Button respectively.

That crew member was replaced after Bahrain, when pit processes were also reviewed. (Reporting by Alan Baldwin; Editing by John Mehaffey)

THIS is what I call an excellent racing - season !! :D

Hopefully them Mercedes-idiots are getting the bullshit on Michael´s car repaired .... if he´s pissed I can understand him well.

I really don't get what's up with Mercedes. Michael started off with a bang this season and then the momentum just took a nosedive. Then you look at Rossberg and he's rosy. Is Michael's setp THAT much different that either he or Mercedes can't get it right?

You could ask the same of Jenson at McLaren - Lewis seems to be fine, but Jenson...

I would NOT wonder, if Lotus comes close ....

They're prolly only capable of producing one decent car. And somehow it always ends up in Niko's hands...

I have a Mercedes (not a F1), and mine gives me tons of problems, a few examples:
- suspensions, stabilizers and control arms (get substituted about once ever 1 1/2 - 2 years, and I only drive on weekends...),
- a motor warning light coming on (but MB says no problem - just ignore it),
- now the EZS... when temperatures drop below 10° C - it does not read the InfraRed Key, for about 30 minutes to 1 hour, and I cannot turn on the engine and get going, though the battery is ok -, when temperatures drop below 0° C, I might as well take the bus or train as it won't budge. Luckily now it's summer...
- but when outside temperatures go above 32.5° C, the AirCon gives up...

A guy living near me, with the same Model, same year - has 0 problems and is overall happy....

5 years to the day...
