I feel I've got to say something because my boyfriend (DervishD) is ****** until 01-03-2009 for discussing tor-rents. His mistake, he should have followed the rules. I just want to say tor-rents are not only used for illegally downloading movies, music and games as the entertainment industry would like you to believe. they're also used for downloading of Linux distributions and by independent artists who want to freely spread their work. Adopting a policy saying tor-rents are used for ******* purposes is not right.

I would say the best thing to do is just to let him carryout his ban and then when he comes back that'll be the end of it. Discussing it isnt going to do anyone any good.

"****** for discussing" is an alarming title for me. Just wait until the approaching ****** develop the ability to read our thoughts and prosecute deeds before they happen.

They are feeding propaganda, to agents, that they can predict behaviour with 97% accuracy already.

I have already found Dervish posts to be unusually honest and enlightening. A loss to the board. May he return in good form.

P2P architecture is actually quite interesting. There are even movie rental services specifically designed for [edit: the t-word]s, where you actually get paid for sharing movies you've rented or bought. Completely legal, I might add. As long as the discussion didn't contain any links to ******* material (which admittedly it could have, since I didn't actually see the thread), I see no reason for it being removed. A blanket ban on discussing a topic, especially a growing and very useful technology, just because it can be used for ******* activities is just silly.

Edit: I noticed it while I read the thread, but of course I fell for it as well...

Afterall, this is a discussion board.

No reason why we shouldnt be allowed to discuss it. There are only a couple topics that should be ****** from discussions but this should not be one of them.

I should know because I got a warning about it. The bottom line is, FreeOnes has ties to many commercial Adult websites and it offers the casual surfer/member a lot of entertainment for the money plus a kick ass forum where you can get free stuff via the accumulation of rep points. It wouldn't be ethical for FreeOnes to allow the exchange of information on how to access pirated adult content especially from those same adult websites FreeOnes has business ties to.
