Firefox (selective) image blocking question

BNF

Ex-SuperMod
For a long time, I've been wanting to block out certain images (mostly logos) that appear on my browser.

For example, when you look at the logo here at the top left of the screen.

Is there a way to block just a single images, and a selected collection, without tagging everything else?

I'm on a special version of Firefox 2.0.0.4.

Hey, BNF ...

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I'm using it on my version (2.0.0.6) and it accomplishes virtually the same thing (almost):

Premium Link Upgrade

Premium Link Upgrade

[EDIT]

I haven't really played with it on an intensive detailed level, I just summarily block all the crap. I would imagine there is a way to 'dial down' on specifics, though.

I looked at that, and liked the second link. But like a lot of add ons in Mozilla when I try to install them it wants to find a file because the extension .xpi isn't recognized. I know it's a .zip type thing to open it, but there are no executable files to run / install it. Other Mozilla add-ons install right off the add on page. One of the reasons I don't use Firefox. I suppose I never went through the learning curve, and didn't like the fact I lost my Windows sounds.

is that because of firefox? didnt know that. i like the fact that i lost those sounds.

I changed out all my standard Win sounds. I have a light click when I type and some wacky cartoon sounds. Menu selections up and down have little bleeps and things.

I also have changed my Win sounds. Windows 3d Pinball game has some great sounds that I use for everday tasks.

I have AddBlockPlus and used it to try and block out a logo one time. It ended up blocking way to much other stuff to. Then to make matters worse, it took a day and a half of searching to find out how to reactive the blocked images.

Thanks for the advice - can you give me clear step by steps on how to block a selected image?

i use Premium Link Upgrade

once installed, all i do is right click the image, and at the bottom there will be an "adblock image..." option. click ok and its gone.

to put the image back, go to tools, and there will be an "adblock" option. go to preferences, and right click whatever you want undeleted and select delete. refresh the page, and the image will be restored.

What Iamforever said. For blocking certains images I use ad block plus 0.7.5.1 and the ad block filter g set 0.3.1.0. Also for downloading images fast, use downthemall and batchdownload.

Yep, I had a really old version of ABP and thanks to iamforever's quick link, everything is as it should be.

Thanks for the help(s).
