Favorite Whiskies and Bourbons

Cult ****** and Simpering Cunt
A few years ago I told the husband to get a hobby and stop driving me nuts. Unfortunately, he chose a very expensive hobby and drives me to absolute distraction with it. He's gotten into *******.

I'm more of a *** person but always liked irish coffees. Well, over the past year its needless to say a "either beat them or join them" situation occurred and ******* is now my preferred choice of spirit. In fact, we've even started filming ******* ******** youtube videos since there's a distinct lack of anything dedicated to this particular corner of the ******* world and enough recipes and combinations of whiskies to keep us going for probably the rest of our lives.

So I thought we ought to have a dedicated "******* and Bourbon" thread going.

I'm pretty partial to Red Breast as just a good all around Irish ******* to sip on. I tend to put Jameson Caskmates Stout in my coffee. My go to bourbon is Angels Envy and rye is the dutch Millstone 100 Rye.

Up until recently I really disliked anything with peat, but to my husband's utter horror I've become an Ardbeg fan. His €150 Ardbeg Dark Cove is going a little faster than he anticipated. Sucks being him...

I don't know anything about ******* or bourbon, even starting with the difference between them. Crazy, right? I guess I've never been much a daytime drinker in general though. If I *****, its right before bed and when I reach for something its red **** or light ****. Always been curious about the stuff, but never really been around it.

I'll have to take you out for a ***** next month. ;-)

I'm a bourbon drinker. Knob Creek, Woodford Reserve, Rabbit Hole, and Calumet Farms. Of course, truth be told, if I'm plowing ahead with a night of heavy ********, I'll just pound down Canadian Club, and water.

Knob Creek isn't bad though I really rather have an Angels Envy or Basil Hayden over it.

I've seen both at my local State store....I'll give them a try next time I buy a jug. Try that Rabbit Hole...very smooth, almost slight vanilla finish.

I'll have to look for it next time I'm in the states. Doesn't look like I can pick it up anywhere over here.

The huge downside to bourbons and american whiskies and living in Europe is the tariffs europe slapped on them to punish Trump. Just to give you an idea, I can get Balcones Baby Blue for around $40 in the USA. Today I'd be paying €77.09 which is about $87. $47 extra dollars just in VAT and fucking punishment tariffs. Ugh. And I can only bring 1 liter of spirits back at a time. Life is ****** sometimes.

I, also, recently got into bourbon in a big way. I like Old Crow for straight sipping, and Evan Williams white label 100 proof bottled in bond.

The most expensive on my list is the Calumet Farms. It's going for $80 a fifth, but while it's worth it, it's only for rare occasions, and Rabbit Hole is around $50....for less special occasions. I ***** Bourbon on Friday night, and I enjoy it with a good cigar. If I ***** bourbon, I ***** good bourbon. The rest of the time, I ***** C.C. and water....because honestly, I ***** to much to afford the good stuff everyday. Odd thing is, I can ***** scotch ******* on occasion, and have had a couple of single malt, 12 year old offerings....but can't tell the difference between that, and a bottle of $15 J&B. But I can tell the difference between rot gut bourbon, and good bourbon.

Something that I've noticed on my ******* journey is as soon as you get over the ******* burn of high ABV spirits you can really start noticing the different tasting notes. A tip I'd been given is get something bottom shelf like Jack Daniels Old No. 7 to taste first then taste a good bourbon after. You'll immediately be able to tell someone why you like the better bourbon more.

Go to bed, drunkie.

Jack Daniels isn't bourbon. It's sour mash. However, Jim Beam and Old Granddad are bourbons ...

Here's some George to get you in the mood :)

And all of them are pretty good. We did a ********* and irish ******* video for valentines day and used Red Breast. It turned out pretty decent.

My bottle of Millstone 100 Rye just arrived last night. Can't wait to break open that bottle. If you like rye whiskies, this one is pretty delicious.

I never had Rye. Silly question, does it have any flavor at all, akin to the seeds in rye bread?
