my farorite is Indiana Jones (series) (1981, 1983, 1993, 2008)

The two I like most are "Duel" and "Close Encounters". A lot of his modern stuff I feel is overblown. I also kind of like Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List and Minority Report, though they are not my favorites.

I think "Duel" is my very favorite, his first film. Of course it is great subject matter, but the way the tension builds in the film and holds you in your seat. Just exhiliarating!

Almost all of his movies are very good with a few exceptions.

Schindler's List.

Saving Private Ryan! No doubt!

I dont like this Indiana Jones crap. And Schindlers Liste and Munich? I mean come on!

I recognise his massive contribution to cinema, but to be honest I'm not really that big a Spielberg fan. Enjoyed the first Jurassic Park, but thought the sequels were crap, enjoyed the first Indiana Jones but found the sequels so-so, Minority Report had great special effects, but I didn't feel any sympathy whatsoever for Cruise's character and I thought E.T. was overly sentimental BS.

Probably the only Spielberg film I find worth it's salt is Saving Private Ryan

Spielberg movies often leave me either wanting more (Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Catch Me If You Can), wanting to know WTF just happened (Artificial Intelligence, Minority Report, War of the Worlds) or wanting my money back (Schindler's List, E.T, A.I, War of the Worlds, Minority Report).

So in reply to Fav. Spielberg movie? Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade ties with the original Jurassic Park.

The casting is superb in both these films. I mean, Sean Connery with Harrison Ford is a stroke of genius. River Phoenix is excellent for the few minutes he's on screen, may he R.I.P. That Nazi Commander dude is pure evil. Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum work great together. Wayne Knight, who is great as a villain. Samuel Jackson; although he pretty much smokes and whinges about the mainframe or whatever all the film. And Richard Attenborough. Also, Big ups to the Raptor dude and Elsa, the Nazi babe.

Oh, and the T-Rex who owns that accountant. :nanner::nanner:

JAWS is so far above the rest of those it's crazy. It is a masterfully told story, with great tension and action. Everyone old enough to remember when it came out will also remember the craze it started, and fervor around the movie. I mean, there was a reason the sequel's tag line was "Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water..."

I remember sharks started to be everywhere- sweet Jesus, there was a special sharks episode of C*H*I*P*s!

Robert Shaw is positively riveting in JAWS. And the soundtrack...
