It was a toss up between "Closer" and "Spirit" but I opted for "closer".
Rush is definately amongst my all time, top three bands. I go way back with that band, although I dropped off, for reasons unknown, aft "Roll The Bones" release. And don't get me wrong, it wasn't that I didn't care for that release . . I guess that I have some catching up to do. :o
I agree, Jags, RUSH really didn't garner the acclaim that you would think, however, I've heard that question addressed to the band members, on video interviews, and it's a funny thing, as I recall. There expressions didn't change a bit. You would think that you'd get some kind of a sarcastic grin or something of the sort, but no. They revealed a neutral, non arrogant, yet self assured,
"to each his own" • "we don't care to commercialize this band"
"if you're own board great, if not, that's ok too", sort of look on their face if you will.
Othe good one Red Barchetta , YYZ, The Trees, Jacobs Ladder, Witch Hunt
The single Album release Exit Stage Left is KEY !! as are "
"Permanent Waves" and "Moving Pictures" releases !
