Fable II vs Fable III

I recently played, and very much enjoyed, Fable III and as a lot of people told me Fable II was better I decided to give that one a crack too.... thing is, I **** it. Fable III instantly hooked me in from the start, but Fable II is fucking annoying. Should I stick it out? Or is it one of those things where it's difficult to go backwards?

Fable 2 isthe superior game IMO.

I think the thing that is causing me grief is the fact that it was significantly more difficult to make people fall in love with you in Fable III, so I've accidentally managed to make almost every single person in Bowerstone Market want to have my babies. I can't go anywhere without thirty five fucking people following me asking for a wedding ring or soliciting me for sex, and it's so annoying!!!

I played all the way through Fable I, only played about half of Fable II. Haven't given the third one a shot yet, maybe some time in the future

I haven't played Fable III yet, but I am definitely going to because I loved Fable II.

But I have found it to be a general rule in video games to not go backwards. You will almost always find the new version superior to the old one. All the little things they fix are undone, and stand out a lot more than they normally would. When you play a game fresh, you're willing to forgive those little things more.

And while I haven't played it, I have heard Fable III has it's own share of problems and/or differences from Fable II that make fans of that game turned off. As someone who played Fable II first, and got used to its way of doing things, I wonder about the new menu system of Fable III. It won't keep me from playing it, but to me, it seems dumbed down. But someone coming off of Fable III and going back might find Fable II's menu system convoluted. I didn't mind it, but I didn't have any expectations going in.

This is why I refuse to go back and play Fable I, which I never played. Because I know if I go back now, I'll **** the graphics and other limitations I know that game has compared to Fable II.

A lot of people have commented on Fable III apparently being "dumbed down" which is interesting because so far, I've felt like it was a much more mature game than its predecessor. I mean, in Fable III when you do an expression it only has an effect on the one person you're doing it to, to make them be your friend you have to complete a task for them and to make them fall in love with you, you must take them on a date (which can sometimes be extremely difficult if you have to take them somewhere infested with angry balverines). In Fable II I just stood in the town square and danced a jig and did that weird fist pump thing while grunting and now everybody wants to bang bang bang.

I really want to keep trying to like it because I loved Fable IIII SO MUCH. I suppose in hindsight I wish I'd realised how much I was going to enjoy it so I could've played them in the right order.

I think it's okay to not like Fable II. Like I said, it doesn't surprise me that you would feel that way. Others might disagree, but that's because they played Fable II first.

It could also be, perhaps, that Fable III is simply more appealing to women. Just a thought. From what you're saying about the meaningful relationships, I would think so. Meanwhile, I remember trying to see just how many women I could get to come home with me at one time in Fable II. ;)

I think I remember reading something about Fable, where you could have multiple spouses.

That's a lot of alimony.

Ahaha, you have me all wrong. It's got nothing to do with forming meaningful relationships, hell, in Fable III I had an orgy with six male whores in my lesbian noblewoman wife's bed while two of my adopted ******** were in the room and then I married another male whore and set our marital home next door to the marital home I had with one of my other husbands, and watched them shout names at each other.

My point was really just that it took so much more effort to get people to fall in love with you, and I didn't realise it would be so easy in Fable II... which lead to me inadvertently making an entire town want to shag me and now all these people are following me everywhere I go begging for sex and/or marriage which is extremely annoying. If it weren't for the horribly irritating opening scene ("Come on, little sparrow!") I'd start over again and be far less generous with my expressions.

The plot thickens.

How are you that fucking hot and still know your **** about video games?!:dunno: I mean I've seen you pull some serious video game knowledge (more than the average/"Gamer" girl) and actually come off with a voice of reason like a pimpily 30yr old living in his ***'s basement. :wtf: I'M SO CONFUSED!!!:confused::dunno:

Hahaha. I existed for eighteen years before the world of professional nudity opened up to me, and much of that time was spent in front of various video game consoles - which I suppose was the inevitable path given I grew up in a very very small country town and I was never very good at sports so games were kind of my only option! These days I actually do video game reviews for Australian Penthouse and contribute the occasional article to a few gaming blogs, so yeah, I definitely know my **** :)

Daaamn! :drool1:

That definitely is annoying. I didn't might chicks coming up to me and saying, "I want you now!" But the constant, "don't you think it's time you got me a ring?" was irritating. Especially when it was dudes. By the end of the game, I didn't care if I was evil or not, so I started wasting all the gay guys and fat chicks in every town.

There were also several occasions where I got stuck in a house, or behind a counter because I had so many people following me and blocking my way.

Yeah, exactly. When it's thirty people following you everywhere and you're constantly hearing the same ten or so phrases looped over and over while you're trying to do the blacksmith job or shop for general goods, it gets very tiresome.

At least in Fable III when people love you, they leave you alone and just go about their business with the occasional suggestive remark if you pass close by.

It's good to know they fixed that. As much as I loved Fable II, that seriously bugged me.

How far along in Fable II are you? I would say you should stick it out, even if it's just for the story. I think the story had some really good moments.

BTW, I meant "mind" not "might" there. I was tired.
