Edward Snowden: The Hegelian Dialectic

I'm not a pro on this matter but the way I see it is I can see ppl's love and hate for the guy. Snowden is bascially Roman Polanski on the run (Sometimes I wonder how he well sleeps at night) and spill out all the beans. America and Russia keep playing kindergarden games, Snowden is now in purgatory, terrorists now have a huge advantage thanks to the leaks and if Snowden steps on US soil his ass will be fried. So I don't know if he should be tried as a felon or not. Tough call imo

That is somewhat of an interesting stance for someone in your position to take, considering it was the common peasant, that no one else cared about, that he spoke up to help. Speaking as a person fairly well connected within the military industrial complex, I will tell you that any criticism, by people like you, of Edward, is a mistake, he is all you have. But to each his own, I guess.

In any event, as for Edward, he will be fine, he just received an international humanitarian award for for his contributions to society. Which you, no doubt, never heard about.

See and that's where I am at odds with Snowden. He sent out crucial leaks right? And yet he is doing it because he feels the American public have a right to know what's going on and for being a public servant? For all you know he could be lying but then again why would he lie about what he did? And even if it wasn't Snowden i'm sure it would've been someone else and maybe that person would've handle the sitiuation better.

Now if this puts Americans more at risk in years to come, I'm sorry but Snowden should be tried as a felon and be held accountable. This is serious shit and well (Never thought I'd say this in a million years) the terrorists is basically laughing in the bank thanks to the leaks. In a way this is a huge blow to America. Edward Snowden betrayed his country and broke an othe of secrecy. I mean come on guy you just don't do that shit and act like a coward while hiding in purgatory. I wouldn't be surprised if Snowden is as of right now living as a paranoid taping the edges and doors in his room, windows, toilet seat and laptop for the stunt he pulled off.

Snowden won an award I never even heard about? Well that just tells me all the more that his backside should be in jail. Hundred percent.

All of Edward Snowden's factual allegations have been independently verified, Also I'm not quite sure why you would think he should be in jail because he has won international awards for his sacrifice, that doesn't even make any sense.

In any event, it doesn't matter, you have been warned, so willfully ignorant peasants get what they get. Fortunately, recent polls indicate that people of your level of ignorance are becoming the minority, in America and around the world.

Edward Snowden will be fine, you should worry more about yourself… LOL

Edward Snowden receives international humanitarian whistleblowing awards in Moscow & Germany

You can read Snowden's acceptance speech as well. It's a quick read, but worth it. Here's a snippet:

"…My gratitude belongs to all of those who have reached out to their friends and family to explain why suspicionless surveillance matters. It belongs to the man in a mask on the street on a hot day and the women with a sign and an umbrella in the rain, it belongs to the young people in college with a civil liberty sticker on their laptop, and the kid in the back of a class in high school making memes. All of these people accept that change begins with a single voice and spoke one message to the world: governments must be accountable to us for the decisions that they make. Decisions regarding the kind of world we will live in. What kind of rights and freedoms individuals will enjoy are the domain of the public, not the government in the dark.

Yet the happiness of this occasion is for me tempered by an awareness of the road traveled to bring us here today. In contemporary America the combination of weak legal protections for whistleblowers, bad laws that provide no public interest defense and a doctrine of immunity for officials who have strayed beyond the boundaries of law has perverted the system of incentives that regulates secrecy in government. This results in a situation that associates an unreasonably high price with maintaining the necessary foundation of our liberal democracy – our informed citizenry. Speaking truth to power has caused whistleblowers their freedom, family, or country.

Jan 20th USA Today Poll: Most Americans now oppose the NSA program

WASHINGTON -- Most Americans now disapprove of the NSA's sweeping collection of phone metadata, a new USA TODAY/Pew Research Center Poll finds, and they're inclined to think there aren't adequate limits in place to what the government can collect.

President Obama's announcement Friday of changes in the surveillance programs has done little to allay those concerns: By 73%-21%, those who paid attention to the speech say his proposals won't make much difference in protecting people's privacy.

The poll of 1,504 adults, taken Wednesday through Sunday, shows a public that is more receptive than before to the arguments made by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. His leak of intelligence documents since last spring has fueled a global debate over the National Security Agency's surveillance of Americans and spying on foreign leaders.

The snapshot of public opinion comes as the White House, the intelligence agencies and Congress weigh significant changes in the way the programs are run. In his address, Obama insisted no illegalities had been exposed but proposed steps to reassure Americans that proper safeguards were in place.

By nearly 3-1, 70%-26%, Americans say they shouldn't have to give up privacy and freedom in order to be safe from terrorism.

The guy is basically a thief, traitor and a coward. Even Snowden knows what he did was wrong and for someone like you praising or gloryfying his actions says a lot. For all you know Snowden probably got a lot of help. This explains why he must be tried for stealing secret information which is now in the hands of other nations. I can only imagine what those nations could be doing with all that vital data.

OK, I can see you haven't really payed much attention to this thread because you are just parroting the spoon fed propaganda disinformational criticisms that FOX NEWS, and the such, disseminated to the general public months ago, before the truthfulness of his statements was confirmed. You really need to familiarize yourself with all the materials in this thread if you plan on going on some type of tirade against Edward, because what you've said so far doesn't make any sense.

The central issue is Americans' 4th Amendment and Second Amendment Constitutional Rights. These are the rights that keep the Government from seizing your property, and detaining you indefinitely without probable cause, and without a trial. Laws that allow this to happen in certain situations already exist as part of the Patriot Act and the NDAA. And these laws are being used against american citizen governmental insiders, not who are any type of terrorist threats, but who seek to critize the government, or alert citizens to crimes being committed against them in secret by the government. That is what a whistleblower is.

All information provided by Snowden was very specific in not disclosing any information regarding any sensitive covert programs that could endanger american national security or the safety of any NSA operatives engaged in imperative secret operations. The concern was that there are serious threats to all americans, from NSA abuses of power, that are endangering the freedom and safety of americans, and that those threats are, in the opinion of those privy to a sufficient amount of information to know, now outweighing the stated justification for having the programs.

The majority of serious politicians, Even the dumbest sellout republican mouthpieces like Hannity and O'Reilly, based on the disclosures of Snowden, have subsequently admitted that what the NSA is doing is a serious problem to American freedom, and is completely illegal.

Alll that information, and much more, has already been provided in this thread, and you would probably want to review all of it if you want to have any type of intelligent discussion regarding the subject.

OK cause this is now getting to be confusing i'm going to have to recap this whole thing...

- Edward Snowden (Who use to work for the NSA) leaked information regarding top-secret government surveillance programs.
- The NSA is an intelligence agency that protects the U.S.’ information and looks for terrorist connections.
- Snowden leaked information about two different NSA operations called PRISM: Collection of data from U.S. phone call records to search for possible links to terrorists abroad and Surveillance of online communications to and from foreign targets to detect suspicious behavior.
- Snowden got his hands on a set of briefings and reports detailing how the NSA’s PRISM program retrieves information from prominent tech companies (Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc.) without court orders or subpoenas.
- PRISM Monitors private Web data if they feel it’s a threatening foreign exchange.
- PRISM is a computer program used to collect and analyze data legally requested by the NSA and divulged by nine Internet companies.
- Snowden leaked NSA documents because he feels he was being a public servant and to expose abuse and protect the public, not to cause damage.
- Snowden claims he was given access; admin officials say otherwise.
- The NSA leak is considered a big deal; potential damage to national security.
- Some feel Edward Snowden is a hero for sacrificing himself to expose government snooping, realized humanity was being compromised by the blind implementation of machines in the name of making Americans safe.
- Some feel Snowden is a traitor; Some think he gave an advantage to American enemies, some believe PRISM violates the 4th Amendment (the right to privacy), broke the law by disclosing government secrets.
- The NSA is considered good because surveillance has helped stop attacks in the past, bad because Americans deserve to know how much information the government has access to.
- Snowden has officially been charged with espionage and theft of government property.
- If sent back to the US Snowden will stand trial on charges of espionage and theft.
- As of now, Snowden is residing in Russia (whoo-hoo!) under the one year asylum (purgatory imo) approval.
- Been offered asylum (purgatory) by four other Latin American countries — Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Ecuador though he has no plans to leave Russia
- Snowden has recently (wait for it...wait for it) won an award.

So why are you in favor of Snowden and why spew such hatred to those who feel he should be punished for his actions? Why do you feel it is necesary for Snowden to be granted asylum in the States?
With that being said; Looking through all this I shouldn't have said the things i've said but it's clear Snowden is no angel. He'll be alright as long as he doesn't step foot on US grounds (hence the Polanski sarcasm stated before) and win more whistleblowing awards.

The real debate atm seems to be between privacy and national security unless there is something else I am missing here.

I'm not discounting the first part of your analysis, but I wanted to respond to this first by saying that Edward gave up his entire life to bring that message, now you have politicians and others saying, "thanks for the message, but go to jail anyways". Which I think is a totally hypocritical, gutless, and cowardly thing for someone to say who would have never made the type of sacrifice Edward did, for ANYBODY, much less billions of strangers. Being a truthful person in life is a sacrifice, if you decide to walk that path in life consistently, then you will understand my emotions more.

Privacy vs. national security is somewhat correct but lessens the significance of altering the Constiutional 4th amendment protections in ways that our American forefathers fought a war to provide and ensure.

I like the amount of effort that you have put forth so far into understanding the overall picture, some of your analysis is on point, some of it, not so much. You are going to need to really watch all the videos to fully understand the significance of the issues involved. I know it will take awhile but it will be worth it in the long-run.

In the meantime, if you have certain questions you would like to ask regarding specific issues while you are studying the materials provided, then I will try to answer your specific question, or point you in the right direction to get answers.

Been watching as much vids as possible and I can't get away from the story it is that interesting. Been up all night hell even called in sick just watch and read more about this issue. This is all complicated yet very interesting stuff. Snowden reminds me of the real life character Matt Damon played as Mark Whitacre in "The Informant" who also served jail time for whistleblowing. I never saw it in the way you explained it to me and because of this I agree with you a hundred percent. So shouldn't the NSA be convicted of unconstitutional crimes instead of Snowden? Do you believe Snowden can defeat the system and be granted a fair pardon? What does this all say about the American Constitution (right to privacy and such)? Should it be rewritten? "The worst is yet to come" what do you think this message means for America?

That is good DC, but first of all, don't miss anymore work, you aren't helping anybody if you are unemployed ! LOL But seriously though, I do agree that it is very interesting, and the more you know from watching the videos and reading the articles, the smarter you will become regarding the core issues, and the more you will see the big picture. But you are off to a good start, keep to up !

So shouldn't the NSA be convicted of unconstitutional crimes instead of Snowden?

Yes, really, at least the Head of the NSA, who lied to Congress under oath, should probably face criminal charges and be fired, but that won't happen. You need to watch at least the last 2 videos in post #119 to understand who and what the NSA is, and the type of people you are talking about. Watch those video, and you will begin to understand why Edward was so scared of them, that he was willing to face possible jail time or death to expose what they are doing, in secret, behind closed doors.

You have to ask yourself, why would someone making good money, with a hot girlfriend, living in Hawaii, give that all up ? Why not just take your money, and go along with the program like everybody else? The reason is because he knew that because of the types of things the the NSA were/are doing, nobody was safe, not even him.

Do you believe Snowden can defeat the system and be granted a fair pardon?

I think it's possible. If the government can't catch him soon to make an example out of him, or discredit him and destroy his character thru mainstream media, as they are currently attempting to do. Then, rather than make him into a martyr, or some sort of living legend, the government would possibly pardon him to make themselves look better, and try to restore some level of credibility and decency to their tarnished image.

What does this all say about the American Constitution (right to privacy and such)? Should it be rewritten?

The Constitution should definitely not be rewritten or modified to, in anyway, lessen our human rights (especially the 2nd and 4th Amendments). It is all the people have to protect themselves against complete tyranny and genocide. The Constitution exists solely for the protection of the common people. To the global elite, who run the shadow government, and the electoral government, the Constitution is merely a hinderance, an obstacle to them gaining total control of human populations, and they will do whatever they can to destroy it.

Go to post #117, to see what some concerned citizens in Congress are trying to do to restore and protect our crucial 4th Amendment rights.

"The worst is yet to come" what do you think this message means for America?

I think it's a warning of what can happen if people don't continue to work tirelessly to protect themselves from tyranny. The global elite has a plan for you, and your children, and your children's children, and that plan is to create an ever-increasing system of world domination and slavery for all mankind. That is what the Bilderberg Group is all about, that is what the Illuminati is all about.

But their plan has not yet come to fruition, and there is still much hope, and many good things in the world as well. Knowledge is the key. The more people that are awakened to an understanding of what is going on, and what is at stake, then the better all of our chances, in the long-run, of survival as free human beings, and not slaves. That is why the actions of individuals like Edward, against the NSA's illegal activities, are so crucial. Exposing their secret illegal agenda is the key to stopping them, and protecting the freedoms of Americans, and all mankind.

Correct me if i'm wrong but Are you seriously part of a cult? I miss a day of work to be brainwashed by a cult like user on a porn site?! Haha! I don't get it,. Why are you trying to brainwash ppl on the threads for? I'm brainwashed enough from watching over a million hours of porn but when I see the church of Satan mixed with the CIA and the NSA, yikes! WTF is this all about now and why am I now seeing a devil like priest who use to work for the Pentagon for LOL? This has nothing to do with intelligence this is now turning into cult like gimickry which now makes it all the more unbelievable and rather disappointing since those vids (especially the 2nd vid *shivers*) has nothing to do with Snowden or the leaks. Because of this, I feel cheated. Get help man. Seriously feel sorry for you:(

Espionage is a crime and it doesn't matter from where you get the information. If Eric Snowden was a man then he would face his deserved punishment. That little prick is looking to get away with a crime. He's worried about personal information being gathered by the government? Where does he go? Russia.

How about people stealing your business or personal life? You hire a babysitter or cashier and they are allowed to go through your financials and collect that information? When you hire people to do a job, they are obligated to trust with anything related to the organization. Stupid supporters of him are convinced that his cause is freedom. Freedom of what? Freedom to search anything you want? He's a criminal looking for a place to hide. Enjoy all of the freedom the KGB gives you.

Are you some kind of an idiot or what, The 2nd video was about Micheal Aquino, the former head of the NSA who is a self-admitted Nazy sympathizer, a well-known devil worshiper, and former head of the Satanic Temple Of Set. For you to say that the former head of the NSA has nothing to do with Intelligence is beyond stupid.

One day you're saying you understand 100%, the net day you say you don't understand anything and start talking some gibberish about your mother,,,seriously… LOL…fuck off idiot loser and stop wasting my time.

Uh-huh- sure thing, Bob. Just another hypocrite dim-witted liar. If you are so opposed to human rights and the 4th Amendment, then why don't you move to Russia too !

Now in fairness, time to hear from the idiot hypocrites who, although they stupidly support the fascist NDAA Patriot Act overall, apparently don't want the NSA spying on their pedo porn downloads...these guys are beyond clueless, and people like them are a big reason why most Americans are so confused about these essential 4th Amendment issues, and a big reason why fascist programs like PRISM were ever created in the first place.

In these clips you can see that Hannity and O'Reilly are only being used as lackey power elite mouthpieces, but they are not part of the .001% of the population fascist power elite...and you can tell this because they obviously had no clue as to the real substance and nature of Patriot Act "anit-terrorism" policies that they have been ignorantly advocating for years...

Just a reminder to all the peasent "Republicans" thinking that, just because you are racists, you are part of something you are not ...merely just minions to be exploited and thrown away when the time is right.

Michael Aquino, head of the Satanic Temple of Set, 'nice guy' proselyte Jew Sammy Davis Jr. and his mentor Anton La Vey, head of the Church of Satan.

"...The motivation to suppress domestic dissidents and to
assassinate loyal American opposition stems from the
perception of dissent against the Vietnam War as
treason. This philosophy is stated very clearly in the
Mind War paper written for Army intelligence by
Lt. Col. Michael Aquino.
The claim of
sabotage by domestic enemies as a reason for losing
the Vietnam War was once a borderline view but has
become the premier narrative of the neocons. This
claim of betrayal by domestic enemies is the exact
claim made by the German Army after their loss in
WWI
. Conservatives and ex-military leaders began to
be critical of socialists, communists, and Jews who
were seen to have "stabbed them in the back" on the
home front. US military intelligence officers and
others with hard right wing ideologies have followed
the well worn path of blaming their political
opponents with actions tantamount to treason and
using that as an excuse to eliminate them
…"

Sigh...Are we supposed to believe that a devil worshipper can serve at the highest levels of the military industrial security complex? Can such claims be credible? Come on Eric...that would make anyone else want to start talking gibberish about their mothers LOL

I don't hate you man but if you read posts #140 the txts clear states that "You need to calm down and you need to take it easy." Take care:wave:
