Obviously you haven't been keeping up. Why do you think the whole sweep of Atlantic re-engagement occurred? I seriously think you're views are outta whack from reality there.
Sorry, no. This is utterly false. It hasn't been the case since the '70s. You really need to review tactical and strategic capabilities over the second half of the 20th century. That's reality. Don't be dillusional.
I don't disagree. In fact, if you haven't read, I have repeated stated the US needs to pull back to the Americas. At least then only the Americas hates us.
But without the US in the Middle East and as a combined, Atlantic threat to the Russians, the EU has serious strategic issues. You might live with the fantasy of otherwise, but EU leaders do not. Hell, even the French came around -- that should tell you something!
You don't have to like the US. That's not what I'm arguing. This isn't about "like."
Yes, in the 1940s. No argument there. It's amazing what the Germans were able to accomplish in just 10-15 years.
So, again, I will repeat what I said above ... You really need to review tactical and strategic capabilities over the second half of the 20th century. Honestly, read up on military capabilities of France and the UK through the decades since WWII.
Prior to World War II, the US was really the "Italians of the West" and an "inferior threat." Although the US quickly changed, even faster than 10-15 years that the Germans took. You are completely dillusional and are living in a past that no longer exists.
And the peak was the Suez Incident.
In the future, there will be a new peak, and that's when the US recognizes China has the control, just like the UK woke up to after Suez. I'm afraid it's sooner than later.
Although it might finally be the point where the US returns to only the Americas. And it might still be too late.
