Donald Drumpf

Could be an interesting topic but I don't want to hijack this thread. Some remarks though:

You wrote about "biblical judeo-christian principles" yet your definition makes it independent of belief? And if something is universal it suggests understanding and acceptance by everyone.

Yes, absolute truth (by definition) is independent of belief and it's universality (is that a word?) doesn't suggest understanding or acceptance by everyone or anyone for that matter. It is, regardless. What you or I or anyone else believe, understand, perceive, agree or disagree with has absolutely no bearing on it.

If not everyone understands and accepts it in the same way, there is no chance for something to be an absolute objective truth, let alone that people could understand or recognize something to be a moral standard. And so on.
It was once widely believed that the earth was flat, but the absolute objective truth all along was that it was actually spherical regardless of what people understood or could recognize. It was the absolute truth that the earth revolves around the sun before anyone acknowledged it did. I don't understand the why of gravity but I could jump off the tallest skyscraper, sincerely believing that I will sprout wings and fly and hit the absolute objective truth at terminal velocity.

I'll reply to the rest later if you don't mind. And if we can still go off road with this already derailed thread. I gotta get goin.
