Does anyone else on here think that $29.99 a month for a membership is just a little bit too much?

Anyone who thinks that $29.99 a month is too expensive must be a very young person. Porn was way more expensive in the pre internet days. And it wasnt until the early 2000s that the industry developed the model of unlimited downloads for $29.00 a month and being able to cancel anytime. Now I was able to download an entire porn store into my computer without actually having to go to a porn store!!! for $29.99!! I could now create my own porn star compilation videos!!!

Yeah, maybe its time for the industry to further improve and update its model. For instance, instead of charging you $29.99 a month for thier entire site, maybe brazzerz could charge you $14.99 for only their Lisa Ann stash. Or maybe charge you $10 for five total scenes. But lets not pretend that the industry is acting like the RIAA did in the pre napster days. The industry as a whole actually did a surprisingly good job of adjusting to the reality of the internet.

ha, ha, In regards to the theater thing I was talking about MAINSTREAM movies like Star Wars. Im not THAT old. Luckily porn had long been on VHS by the time I started watching it. I was way too young for porn when it started making the transition from theaters to vhs.

I agree. I remember paying $500 in rent for a 1bd 1ba in Los Angeles back in the early 2000's and the gas prices back then almost seem like a dream now.

Some of the tourist stores in Times Square have an interesting not so distant past and they keep their overstock merchandise in some rather undesirable places.

It depends on the content. A site like Twisty's, is almost impossible to completely go through in 1 month, unless you are home all day, every day, and have 2 computers downloading zip sets constantly. I know, I tried. I was a member for a month, and couldn't get a third of it...but I got what I wanted first, and it was worth it, and I would join again one day, when I can justify spending the time to do it.

If I'm not mistaken, some sites will charge less, if you continue your subscription, and might even reduce your cost if you join for a whole year at once.

I feel $29.99 isn't that bad for a single months membership to a top quality paysite. I've joined a number of paysites in the past. I can truly say that I have been a happy customer most of the time. I usually will get a 3 or 6 month membership to a few quality sites throughout the year. 3 and 6 month memberships are usually discounted, you save a lot and get a lot of quality porn for your buck. Discount review sites certainly help out making that decision on joining and good paysite.

Yep it's more than I'm willing to spend. What really sucks for me inthecrack is $35 a month and that site is one of my favs. Every so often I'll splurge and get a month subscription but I hate paying that much for it.

Like any other product or service, I'd say it depends on what you get for your money - what inflation has done over the years or how it compares with the cost of a cup of coffee are immaterial IMO. I wouldn't pay $1.99/mo. for some sites. But depending on what you are into and what they offer, some may be a bargain at $29.99 a month. :dunno:

If it's recurring, unless there is a hell of a lot of new content each month, then probably. But some do offer a large number of sites for that one price too. Also if it has unlimited downloads like say Jules Jordan does, a one month membership even at that price is still pretty good. I think I downloaded around 40 scenes (about 8 DVDs worth) in that time starting with my fav stars and then whatever else looked good. Compare that to buying the scenes individually from VOD type sites or buying DVDs from online stores and its way cheaper.
