In college we ran a 4-4-3. Sometimes we went with a 5-2 and occasionally we ran the dime, but I can honestly say I never really liked the nickleback all that much because too many yards could be given up on the ground.

I will admit to having 12 Nickelback songs in my iTunes. However, as you can see from the graphic below, the songs do not have any plays nor are they synced to any of my devices. So while I have the songs, I do not listen to them... anymore.

Yes, I did listen to Nickelback while I was in college. I'm truly sorry for it.



I promise I have better taste in music now. I listen to Death Cab for Cutie, The Decemberists, Dr. Dog, The Shins, Arctic Monkeys, Modest Mouse, The Features, and The Black Keys to name a few. See, I'm normal. No reason to permanently shun me or set my house on fire...

It sounded like my garbage disposal was about to croak after someone poured a bucket of mud and gravel down it. It turns out it was just Chad Kroeger on TV singing the theme song to Spider Man. What a relief.

I never really paid them any mind. They were just like background noise to me during the last decade. Then it hit me one day when one of their songs was playing on the radio for like the 3rd time that day: 1) Their songs pretty much sound the same and 2) They suck, at least in relation to the amount of air time they were getting. 3) The lead singer sounds like he's trying to push one out.

Regardless, it's all in fun. To each their own. I mean I like ABBA.

Yeah. In fact, if you click on them numbers telling you how many people voted yes and how many voted no, ... .

To answer the question: no. Never liked them, never will. Not ever. The lyrical themes they pick up on are so superficially explored. Also, I'm OK with a band missing one or more of those things like stylistic diversity, poetic gimmicks, skill, or any trace of musical sophistication, etc., but to miss all of those things - that amply proves these guys have zero intellectual curiosity ... which is fine, and we are left with the subjective question of musical poignancy, moments of which I've yet to hear from these guys.
