Do You Consider DJ's As Real Musicians?

All you assholes think every dj just samples someone elses music? What about guitarists who stole from others? Jimmy Page? Surely he's a musician right? But a guy who creates his own music with a turntable isn't?

Too many people here are stuck in the past and are afraid to accept new things so they just say wahhhh rap isn't music. Waaahhh every dj in the world is unoriginal. It's crazy how close minded some people can be.

That's the qualification? That DJs can combine things? I'd give the edge to Jimmy Page every day out of the week, and twice on Sunday, simple by virtue of the fact that he can play the songs. I'm not saying DJs aren't talented, I'm saying from my perspective, if you can't play the instruments that are making that music, you're not a musician.

There are some DJs that seem to have quite a bit of interesting output, but they strike me more as people with good ears who know how to make arrangements of samples and such. Is that a kind of playing, like learning or knowing how to play a piano or guitar? I don't know. Maybe it could be. Maybe not.

Mostly, they "play" music created by others.
And everything with the computer.

I prefer bands who play with guitars, drums etc.
Even a accordeon sounds better then those computerbeats.

Although some can be creative with music, I certainly don't consider them actual musicians.
Thing is, when you take a bit part here and another there, you create your own, sure, but in no way is a turntable or a computer a musical instrument.
