We and all living self aware beings have energy, our brains have energy and when your physical being passes your "soul" or energy through the law of conservation of energy in thermodynamics, retains some form of awareness whether in this dimension or another.

I know it sounds weird but I truly believe this.

I believe alot of strange things happen... can't say its a ghost. Any number of things could cause doors to slam or open. Phantom images or strange noises. With that said I have had some very strange experiences in my life. Was it a ghost... I just don't know.

Why is it when something unexplained happens, people have to say it was a ghost? Do you need an explanation for everything? Just because you can't explain something, doesn't mean it was a ghost, or phantom, or spirit etc. Accept the fact that you can't explain some things.

My mom says she saw a ghost, and my mom wouldn't lie to me, but I don't believe her. Her brain was playing tricks on her, and seeing her grandma is some sort of coping mechanism for her grandmas death. Whether or not she wants to accept that, that's what happened.

They don't exist. The idea that someones spirit hangs around for the sole purpose or slamming doors and shaking things is fucking ridiculous.

Same thing with aliens. When people see something they can't explain, it's either a ghost or an alien. It's our new mythology. This concept of "spirituality" that allows us to think that stories of Adam and Eve and Noah are ridiculous, but consciousness surviving biology is not.

As a people, we like to look back and laugh at the previous generation that explained nature and imposed rules by inventing mythological stories and creatures. But we do the same thing today, only with far less creativity.

I understand that notions of "ghosts" and "spirits" comfort us when it comes time to think of our existence in regard to the big picture, but it shouldn't be a scary thought and we shouldn't feel the need to trick ourselves to deal with it.
