Guys, I've been thinking for some time that the Internet, at least in the form we know it, is nearly 13 years old, right? And porn is the single biggest entity, reportedly catering to 1.2 billion hits daily.A new addiction has spread across the world -- porn addiction. People hit porn sites at work, at home, in army messes, cyber cafes, caring little for the moral and psychological consequences. I know people whose teenage children have caught them red handed visiting porn sites. A lot of people have lost their jobs for it. Yet, the global fraternity of porn lovers continue to grow. To moralists, the 'mainstreaming of porn' is a big headache. Yet, we guys continue to be regarded as sickos. Do you think this is fair? Come, why should it be all right to watch WWF where two or three guys (even girls) batter each other with punches and kicks, but not a pair or threesome of beautiful people making love?
I want to know: Do you think we need help?

well, let me put it this way, it's hardly a surprise. porn finds its way into any technological medium it is able to...it welcomed the Internet with open arms...the Internet welcomed porn with open arms? perhaps not.

There are numerous organisations like that, but they are just not as well known as AA. By the way, no, we are not victims of an evil empire. Things like this just need to take time to become less taboo. It will only be another decade or so before it is all out in the open.:glugglug:

Many people have become soft due to this and this is also brings about these overly sensitive types, those who can't take a joke and etc. Because they spend more time in front of the computer than interacting with live people.

This is a coincidence. I have been watching porn almost on a daily basis since 1999. God knows how many pornstars I have seen come and go over the past eight years. Nowadays I don't find it enjoyable at all. Yet there is a strange compulsion that drives me to surfing porn sites. I don't like myself for doing this. A lot of my colleagues know I am a porn addict. My wife knows. I tell her that this is harmless fun. But, all the same, I think I need help.

I don't think you need help. You're another one of us that happens to find a visual stimulus really exciting. Of course, now it's also habit as well. To be honest, I rarely come to Freeones just for porn anymore. I come in here and chat around with the folks I've met. I'll usually end up browsing some babes as a matter of seeing a thread or a sig or something I like.

I was just talking with a co-worker about this issue yesterday. I think the internet has allowed for a lot more connection (gross understatement there), and so where child porn viewers used to be alone in their sick little world, they've got their own network(s), and so some of the very unfortunate things have come from this as well.

Still, I don't want anyone really regulating it, ever. It truly is a bastion of free speech and opinion (Even if I disagree with 90% of it )

Because even if you show some WWF or boxing or any other violent shit to your kids, yeah, that would scare them off, but not for long (especially with today's video games, eh, you might say I didn't even make any allusions to the violence). However, sit your child in front of your parental bed (tie him or her up or something) and starting fucking your wife/husband in front of the kid. I don't know if that answers your question, but all I know is that porn (and any explitely shown sexual intercourse for the matter) should be censured and for your own good, or at least, for the good of your children. And not 'til they're 18 or 21 or whatever. Until they become psychologically and emotionally stable for it. Because when I talk about sex to some people over 40 years old, some of them seem to act like pure children to it.
Dammit, there is no reason to put age limit on pornography viewing. There must be rather an IQ limit on it hehehe

Good for me, I'm a selective SOB, in that, only a certain few girls really really intrigue me, otherwise . . . I kind of see right through them.

If you've survived other compulsions as I, having been "addicted" to pot, blow & alcohol, 10 - 15 years ago, you kind of look at the world with a sort of . . . "arrogant skepticism" . . . if you will. . . you're a bit more guarded against things that have the potential to ruin people. Does that make sense ? I didn't think so . . . Ha ha ! Besides, I have many other interests, I don't wish to become a reclusive - anti social - fat arse - slob !! (that's the Arrogant Skepticism part :1orglaugh.

I hear that you're a genuine man . . OK ? You're now ready to proceed . . . into a realm of healthy consciousness. One doesn't have to necessarily hit their rock bottom to find cure / relief, just able to identify it.

Practice sitting still, away from your PC. Gaze outdoors, pet the cat . . . whatever ! During this quiet time, contemplate what it is that you will lose if you continue, or progress, as you are. (Your Wife ? Your Job ? . . home . . . .?)

If you cannot find, or have the ability to carry out aforementioned exercise, you'll get worse ! Think only for / as yourself & family ! i.e. - Yes, there are dark forces around us !! Identify those, or as you interpret them, but do not let them deny their existence or anger you !

Anything can become an addiction. Porn is no different. As humans we have a desire to see nudity and the internet has made it easier to fulfill that desire. There are people out there that may need help. They may be addicted to the internet, sex or masturbation.

Honestly, I don't think age has anything to do with it. I'm 21 now but I lost my virginity when I was 15 years old. I don't think there was anything wrong with that. In fact, it only made my self-esteem go way up. It strengthened my love and appreciation for my girlfriend.

I honestly wouldn't mind if the legal age for doing porn was lowered to 16. 16 is not a bad age at all. People can be mature enough to handle sexual lifestyles at that age.

Remember folks, age is an invention of the human mind. Love is love, sex is sex. Maturity can be achieved at any age.

More on topic, I think, as mentioned, that moderation is the key. It all depends on if porn is influencing the way you run your life. Personally, my porn viewing has gone way down since I joined the Freeones board since I spend so much time talking and posting on here. I love porn because I love to celebrate the beauty of women. That's why I spend most of my porn time collecting pictures of women posing, nude and non-nude. When it comes time to jack off, I have videos for that purpose. It's almost like two separate things for me. But I don't let either dominate my life. If I'm addicted to anything, it would be the Freeones board, not porn per se.
