Dangerous Hybrid Storm Coming to East Coast USA Next Week?

Usually around Halloween I bitch about how it's minus eighteen with a foot of snow on the ground, but for once I'm glad that there might be people out there who are suffering more than Canadians.

:wtf: I live in DC but we aren't afraid of anything.... I'll personally kick this "Frankenstorm " in the nuts if it comes anywhere near here !

Now if you'll excuse me I need to go find a good hiding place and pray that Sandy doesn't make this unprecedented hard left and blow my house into the Patomac River ....:hatsoff:.. :box:...:lurk:

All New Jersey need to do is put Governor Christie on the coast. Hurricane Sandy will bounce right off of him.

Considering how bursting-at-the-seems he is with hot air, I'm pretty sure that the two fronts meeting would just cause massive tornadoes. He'll be okay, of course, because nature isn't capable of producing a twister powerful enough to lift him.

Tombstone pizza, taco shells, frozen beef lo mein, peppercorn ranch potato chips, Kool-Aid. Now I have everything ready for the storm. I hope they cancel jury duty for me on Tuesday.

I just put the boat away for the winter last weekend!

Got the generator fueled up and checked the pumps. Living on an island can get wet.

Ah crap! We're all gonna die!

So, some people are saying this might be one of the largest storms in the history of the area, but it's hard getting reports from sources like Reddit. Anyone in its path who knows a lot about the storm care to share some insight?

Here's hoping you have a way to cook all of that in case the power goes out.

...or it may just be a cat 1 or tropical storm. I'm on Long Island, so we shouldn't get a direct hit. The folks in NJ are going to take it.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Good guy storm: Can hit anywhere on the East coast, but chooses to hit New Jersey.

LOL!!!! Not sure if you mean that it is a "Good Guy" as in it is hitting NJ on purpose or you mean "Good Fella"...which those guys were based in Queens and on LI ;)

Just came home from Sandy Hook @ the beginning of the Shoreline.

Beach is under water already and the waves were at 5-10 feet already.

Is was awesome to watch but come this time tomorrow, the whole shore will be under water.

Pray for me and Bob.

:hatsoff:

Stay safe, guys. Here's hoping it misses populated areas or that the Storm becomes less severe. As much as I'd like a couple days off work, not like that.

I just topped my generator with oil and ran my weekly test, so I'm ready. My only problem will be cable/internet service going down.

Tombstone Pizza is fucking awesome.

He'll be fine. He can just cook on one of the several trash can fires that burn on the corner of every street in NJ.

I live in Maine, about 2hrs from Boston, and I think the worst we're supposed to get is "sustained 30-40mph winds with 60mph gusts", some rain, and probably some power outages.
