The overall size of the storm doesn't have anything to do with sustained wind speed, which is still just a CAT 1...if it maintans its current dynamics through the weekend, and current course, we will probably be in direct path of the eye.
Definately cause for hieghtened preparedeness but nothing more...we've been through several low CAT 1 Hurricanes/Tropical Storms..so, worst case scenario is we possibly loose power for a few days, but hopefully nothing much worse.
I live just far enough off the coast to make it an exiting adventure rather than a horrifying life-threatening ordeal... but its still a dangerous situation to be taken seriously.
Never experienced a Hurricane on Halloween (Wiccan Samhain) though, plus a full moon on Monday as well...very cool ! ...According to Ancient Mayans, Hurricanes are a manifestations of The Mayan God "Huracan" (Sky Heart) To impose on man the wrath of Ancient evil or Angry spirits...As usual, I will spend the duration of the storm in the forests to experience its true power !
