CPR works.......here's proof

I just got home a little while ago from being at the hospital after saving my neighbor's life. I was ready to go to bed when I heard a commotion outside. Her boyfriend overdosed on fentanyl, which is more potent than heroin. She rolled him over just to see if he was awake, but he was turning blue.

She called 911 and I made sure he didn't swallow his tongue, had a heartbeat and was breathing. His breathing stopped a couple times and I had to do CPR. My neighbor was freaking out and I told her calm down and help. I made sure he was breathing and when the EMT's came they took over. She kept on saying if I wasn't home she wouldn't know what to do. I'm the only person that knows CPR and I thought I'd never have to use it, but tonight I did.

Believe me when I say, go take CPR classes. It works and it's worth it. Her boyfriend's home here now and I told them don't call me a hero. I just did what I was taught and what any decent human being would do.

At my old workplace we were taught CPR, but I have forgotten it :shy:




So if your around me and you decide to choke or go into cardiac arrest etc, dont be looking at me to help you.

That's the one in all the tv ads about the pain patch they're telling people not to use, even the patches can give you an overdose. Makes you wonder how it ever hits the market, then again, if it were a cure for cancer how long would you want them to spend testing it...oops, big can of worms there.

The biggest change to CPR is no more mouth to mouth. My dad told me that they passes a law saying no more of that. Now it's open an airway, check for pulse and breathing. I don't know if that's just here in Pennsylvania or not.

From what my neighbor told me, her bf took the patches and cooked the drug into a powder and snorted it. Now I don't know that much about drugs, nor do I want to know.
