Converting Video Formats

I have that video joiner program that someone talked about in here. My problem is that it won't link files that have different formats, for example, it won't link wmv files with asf files. Is there a way to convert the wav files so that they become asf files without having to download the videos all over again?

sure it's possible. I don't know if it's possible to convert from the way you described it but it's surely possible to convert from avi to mpg, asf to avi or mpg... I have a prog. named AVSVideoConverter.

a couple of comptuer questions ?

i have a couple of computer questions ...

is there any program that i can get so that i can download faster music and movies and other type of media files ...i have 56 k dial up ..i have kazza lite +

is there any program that i can get since i search porn sites that can avoid getting my homepage changed or get dialers ?

what type of media viewing files are faster to download...avi , mpg , asf , wmv

thanks

yeah, you'll want high speed if you don't want the waiting hassles
winmx is decent with no spyware...but the queue times can be high

Not an expert at it but try right clicking and then properties. Maybe one of the other members can be a little more specific.

u cant do it in properties i know that
but i'm prettysure there is a program you can use to convert wmv to avi and vice-versa and stuff

but why do you need to do it in the first place?

Trust Hung! He's more of an expert than me! I change windows media files to Real player in properties so that must be what I was thinking of!

actually you CAN change an .wmv to an .avi by just manually renaming the file type.
however, when you play it in the new avi format sometimes there are errors

avi can be switched to mpeg and vice versa with no problems though

i am not an expert on this though, as brino said

maybe someone else can be more help

TMPGEnc will convert pretty much anything to mpeg. And it is very easy to use.

However, wmv files are usually very low quality, so the quality will remain low even if you convert them.

.wmv Question

I notice a lot of .WMV files from pay sites now have a message saying "acquiring liscense" when they load. This wouldn't be bad, except it happens a LOT with files I get from file-sharing progs. Also, some files I downloaded when I was a member of a site won't work now that I'm not.

My question is, does anyone know of a media player that works around this, or a program that will let me rip the video into a new file?

Re: .wmv Question

you could try the following player

Premium Link Upgrade

or go Premium Link Upgrade , and find a way to convert the wmv files to differ format.

good luck, and tell me how it turns out for u!! :hatsoff:

Re: .wmv Question

there is no eays workaround for licensed .wmv's and converting them doesn't work either. I was all over the web for that a few weeks ago.
Look for "how to become a hacker" on google. :D In 15 years you might come up with something. Sorry.

Re: .wmv Question

lol

although wmv's are good because they are better compressed, but licenses are a pain! :p

:wave2: Haven't used P2P for years, but I think the full version of kaza has a built in preview (or did have at one point).

Don't use them myself, but here's another P2P that says it has a preview system

Premium Link Upgrade

Don't know if it plays WMV, but if it can access Windows codecs it should be able to.

:)
