Cavemen the TV Show is Actually Happening

I really, really did not think ABC would do it. The network has decided to air the sitcom “Cavemen” opposite American Idol on Tuesdays. Just think of all the funny jokes TV reporters can make about how “Cavemen can’t even catch a break in scheduling!” Ha ha. I assumed the show would not make it past the pilot stage. But, once again, network executives have been able to go below my lowest expectations.

Please shoot me in the face. It seems like an extreme reaction, but I just watched two minutes of this heaping pile of shit on the Interweb.

Wow. Just fucking wow. It is so horrible I can barely wrap my brain around it. When I first heard that ABC was contemplating a sitcom about the amusing Geico commercial cavemen I assumed it would be about their personal lives. Really bad, but not the worst sitcom ever made. But ABC has decided to make the show about race. Fucking amazing. This could be the worst sitcom of all time.

Throughout all of my painful years in show business I have always heard the same thing from the networks, “We want the next All in the Family.” But it always ends the same: The networks are too scared to tackle any real subject and possibly offend anyone, so they back off or water the show down until it is not funny. But with Cavemen, the network found the perfect combo – because they are Cavemen. Get it? They are sort of like black people.

"Cavemen," based on the popular Geico ads, attempts to turn race relations on their head by focusing on a new "minority," said Stephen McPherson, president of ABC Entertainment,

ABC hopes the much talked about "Cavemen" series can break the comedy doldrums. "It will have the ability to offend everyone," said McPherson. "But offend no one."

Actually, you have offended everyone with a brain in their head, you stupid fucking cunt. Television executives should be rounded up and murdered, very slowly, for being the dumbest fuckers on the face of the Earth.

I liked the commercials and I for one am interested in seeing how it turns up. You mentioned a two minute clip, got a link?

what is the plot?

Why did they go with new actors, my hope was dashed by that clip.

The guys in the commercials just seem to get the cynicism right. The acting in the clip was just soooo flat

Really low quality TV in the US. If they can't steal it from the Brits, anything that keeps someone's attention in a 15 second commercial they think will make a 30 minute TV show and it will run 20 years. Don't have a cow man! Now isn't that still funny after 21 years?

If I were going to produce this show, which I probably wouldn't, I would at least try to keep it funny like the commercials. I don't think you could morph it into a serious thing and have it work out.

Please, I'm so tired of hearing how the US steals everything from the Brits...so we borrow some ideas, big deal, you make it sound like anything of quality on US television is only because we stole the idea from the Brits, who cares anyways, everyone knows Hollywood has lost a lot of it's creativity over the past ten years, but it surely doesn't mean that we only get our good ideas from those chaps across the ocean.

i saw a preview the other day for this show. i dont think they are using the same actors for the show. i believe they would need the same actors to play the characters to pull it off. :2 cents:

How insane! People will watch anything these days. Simply absurd!

What's next? Is the AFLAC duck getting its own TV show? It would get better ratings than Caveman but not American Idol. (Las Vegas stand-up comedy drum hit and cymbal tap signalling the punchline.)
