His captors also "continuously" showed him Taliban videos and told him he was going to be executed, Bergdahl wrote, adding that during the course of his captivity, he "unsuccessfully tried to escape approximately 12 times."

It looks like Bergdahl may not face any prison time. In some cases, young officers are not willing stand up to their far more experienced NCOs, and more than not unit discipline is harmed in those cases. If Bowe Bergdahl, gets a great deal then we there is much truth to the report above.

The U. S. military has not charged him with murder. Go lookup the average number days troops are in combat Afghanistan? The only way murder charge would stick, was if troops got killed rescuing Bergdahl. The Pentagon knows a military court of experienced combat veterans would not buy anything less than that scenario.

Bergdahl is not a civilian, the Articles 118 and 119 are broad enough for Bergdahl, to be charged with something under those articles. If the court martial scenario happened their would be a court martial, and not a plea deal.

and holy shit, the Uniform Code of Military Justice is no joke - attempted burglary is classified under murder and the mandatory punishment is either death or imprisonment for life.


regardless, Bergdahl's desertion led to 6 soldiers being killed.
