LOL that's true. My mom is Igbo and she's very light skinned, same with my sister and the rest of my family. I keep asking her if any of her ancestors was but she doesn't know of any whites in my family tree. This story is really weird indeed. Maybe this is how the white race formed after humans left Africa hundreds of thousands of years ago :eek:

I wouldn't be surprised, perhaps the Igbo are a branch or remnant of the people who became the elongated East Africans (think Somalis, Ethiopians) themselves the direct ancestors of non-Africans. That could hold the genes for light skin and caucasoid features right there.

True, but White Supremacists might try to spin it as example of white people being more evolved than black people.
I noticed that certain white supremacists have taken an interest in the Igbo because of their propensity towards light skin and higher than average IQ.

Simple genetics... the trait for darker skin is dominant, the traits for dark eyes is dominant. That means they each had an allele for the white skin and blue eyes but it wasn't expressed since the other gene overrode it, so somewhere down their family tree were white folk.
