Bill Heard closing local Chevrolet dealerships

I've seen a lot of used car lots "go empty" over the past 2 months. These lots were stock full of Chevy and Ford SUVs, F150s, Silveradoes, etc.

It's sad when the consumer sends a signal to "the market" and the market can't respond...If this Big 3 bailout happens then every GM exec needs to be pinkslipped. Ford's execs have been trying to steer the company away from trucks and SUVs...they just can't move fast enough, technologically speaking....

They're slashing prices to get rid of them and there is always someone who will buy one, because it goes with his image or some nonsense. While I wouldn't buy one, I do realize there are people who need them. Ten years ago I know someone who bought a full size Ford pickup for under $20. Now I'm hearing about $7k off sticker to $37,000. Is that correct?

People still think it's patriotic to buy a Chevy made in Mexico. Those execs got big bonuses while laying off GM workers in Flint, MI don't forget. Another subject Michael Moore stood up for and publicized. That nut I hate him! :1orglaugh

A lot of car dealerships are going out where I live. Some of them are like ghost parking lots now. They are just big empty spaces of asphalt.

Bill Heard's business practices lead to this, not their product.

If you are a GM Chain dealership and can't get GMAC FINANCING, you have big problems.

They have a horrible reputation here and I've never heard anything good about them.

I certainly hope, that if the Big 3 get money from the U.S. Government, they are forced to stop out sourcing work to China & bring that work back to the U.S. There are a lot of people who work for parts suppliers that are on the unemployment line because of this.:dunno:

WHat does it say about America that it's always the American dealership that gets dumped on by the public for "shoddy business practices":dunno:

Is there a Honda or Toyota dealership in some part of the country that operates under the same faulty reputation?

Big 3 American Dealerships can no longer put credit unworthy "customers" behind the wheels of their gas guzzlers. The credit market is done. My sister had a tough time buying a car 2 years ago because she wanted to pay cash for it straight up. She didn't want to finance through the dealership and they didn't want her cash. She bought from an Auto Broker (who has since gone out of business of course)....

AFA: Yes, the guzzler costs $37000 now but the discount is $12 to $15k here...and the lots are still f u l l....

Make no mistake kids there are no us automakers anymore...NONE

GM FORD and CHRYSLER are global companies and all of them own parts of other Japanese german or gods knows what companies.

They did this to themselves

Bailing them out again...this will be chrysler corps 4-5th bailout ?

Its more corperate welfare and its total bullshit just like bailing out the banks.

Gm Sells more Buicks in China than they do in the US.

Usually made from ground up cars that the steel came from the us

Somehow people forget that the ONLY reason that most european and africans dont speak really good german or japanese was the us manufacturing ability and the day we started giving what made us great away to china was the day this country became a joke

My favorite congressman once said.....the US is the worst country in the world....ecept all the rest of them.

Makes you think

We need a better government.

The only way to fix this is term limits and making our leaders work harder at doing the right thing instead of working half a term to get elected.
