Bikini vs. Bra & Panties...

Just out of curiosity, has anyone here actually seen a woman get arrested, verbally assaulted, or thrown out of an event for wearing nothing but a fully concealing bra and panties in public? Or are you all just assuming that it would be treated differently than wearing a skimpy bikini in public, perhaps because you yourselves think of them differently?

I grew up in Cleveland and there was a summer while I was in high school where some of my friends went swimming at night, down at the "beach". Some of the girls didn't take bathing suits and just went into the water with their bra and underwear on, but others did have bathing suits.

Fast forward to later that night...

Police officers showed up (as they were swimming in a "closed" area of the "beach") and told everyone to get out of the water. The girls who were wearing bikinis were told to go home and didn't get into trouble. The girls who were wearing their underwear, on the other hand, were issued tickets for "public indecency", taken to the police station and forced to wait there until their parents picked them up (as they were under 18 at the time).

FYI - It's not a real beach, so I put it into quotations. It's just a big area that has been made to look like a beach, even though it's just a big lake full of water.

That's funny, the girl who gave you an earfull must have been PMS'ing that day, or recently been dumped by some random guy. The wording of her comment sounds like it's driven my envy and or jealousy of you. You're certainly not bad looking in that photo by any stretch of the imagination. Though the style of clothing, and the way you're leaning on the bed can be considered by some to be suggestive of sex, and are not unlike some shots done by women in a porn shoot. Though you look like a nice respectable woman to me, and in no way a whore. You look like a happy go lucky girl having some fun with the camera. This girl that wrote you definatly needs to shut up and get laid or something. That should put her in a better mood. And By all means continue to take more shots, and if you have any "skanky" pictures of you at the beach, feel free to share the love. I'm sure this girl will just hate you even more. lol

It was my Facebook profile picture. I recieved an Honesty Box posting (for those of you who don't have Honesty Box, its basically a box where people on your friends list can leave opinions on you anonymously). So yeah, some girl posted in my HB that said "First off, you aren't remotely pretty, but what I don't get is how you can dress like such a slut on the web. And don't you have a husband? You should respect your body and your man and put some fucking clothes on you whore".

K, as you can clearly see in the photograph, I am wearing an actual shirt, and boyshorts. So I replied to this girl, (who is on my friends list, but unfortunately I do not know who she is because of the whole anonymity thing) and stated "hmm funny, because if THIS is considered whore-ish, I really shouldn't be parking my ass on the beach this summer because I'll be a flat out skank wearing a swimsuit....and btw, my man shot this photo and enjoyed getting to shoot me in my skivvies...in fact, I'm sure your bf would too."

So anyways, yeah...I was shocked that I would get verbally attacked like this for wearing THAT!!! What is with some people getting offended over revealing clothing? And its true....if I was posing in a swimsuit, I'm sure she wouldn't have had a problem with it. WTF :dunno:

Not to paint too graphic a depiction for you but I like to sleep in a t-shirt and boxers. Every morning when I get up, I slip on my gym shorts (literally, every bit as revealing as my boxers are) to go out and fetch the morning paper. I have no hesitancy nor concern for anyone to see me in my gym shorts but, God forbid, should a police car come careening around the corner while I was left standing in my driveway dressed only in my underwear, there would surely be hell to pay.

I was like wow how times had changed and remembered how in the early 60s you did not see real women in commericals (modeling them) for bra's and on TV married couples were shown to have seperate twin beds.Now we got commericals talking about getting mommy out of her clothes.

I don't know what to add that hasn't already been said. Although i'd like to add that the only place I find the bikini acceptable is the beach/pool. Or perhaps my bedroom! As much as I like seeing skin... sometimes more clothes is exciting. The whole what you not seeing thing. Take Ashleigh there. Very nice photo.

I think it is all about expectations. We don't expect to see women we don't know in their bra and panties. It can be shocking. Plus, there is an implication of undressing when you're down to bra and panties. There's no expectation at the average beach that more is coming off once she's down to her bikini.

its funny how we become socially programmed as to what is acceptable behavior and what is not. Social Norms that we're born long ago still exist today. Obviously, not that easy to break.

When I see a baseball bold I generally see women cutting a bikini top, a brace of shorts, a bra now is if this is absolutely the aforementioned color, aforementioned size, aforementioned bulk of coverage, she will be kicked out of the game, why do I Do not know.
