I am with you on that. Who the hell ever heard of putting down bears because they are too friendly? I am sure that there may be a reason behind that, but I am doubly sure that they can find something else to do with these guys other than **** them.
Tame? No, they're high. Last month they one was caught stealing a car. What's next?
I can't imagine that they'll have to be destroyed. Worst case scenario is that they'll be removed and sent to some preserve or ***....like the cubs of the bear that ****** near Yellowstone. But, in this case, it seems that the Mounties aren't even going to bother with these bears in any way.

Yes. You just used Wikipedia as a source to try and prove me wrong. That's pretty bad. Did you go and read the parts where the hakapik ***** the seal immediately and painlessly? Or the part where some people use the seal hunt as a neccesary source of income? People who speak out against the seal hunt never bother to learn the positives of it; they only focus on what they want.

Yeah well, people also use heroin dealing and armed robbery as a necessary source of income. But, now the EU has ****** the importation of seal products so, there goes the income. And I will continue to use Wikipedia as a source of info and people can continue to critisize it all they want. I also posted the link to the National Post story to make it two-sided.

Now, forgive me if I am wrong, but didn't that National Post story say that the hakapik is a good thing? Even the activists say the hakapik is a good thing. Canada is negotiating to get an exemption for the Canadian seal hunt for that EU ban because the ban is based on untrue facts.

Given you posted links to various sites, I feel I'll do that too. A better question to ask is what are the negatives of seal hunting? What are actual, scientific negatives that come from seal hunting, rather than negatives merely based around personal opinion and twenty-year old photos of people clubbing baby seals (Which is ******* by the way)? Are we ******* off the seal? No. Are we making seals suffer? No. Is the seal hunt an important event for thousands of people in an ecomomically-troubled province? Yes.
Based on the fact that it is ******* for independent parties to monitor the seal hunt without a permit, which is never granted, the figures about how "humane" the clubbing in the head method is, is under dispute. It is also under dispute whether the sealers go to the trouble of even checking. Considering that they are on the ice, in freezing cold, having to work between weather systems, these are valid concerns. But, for anyone to independently establish facts, they get arrested and their boat/equipment is confiscated. If Canada has such a hard-on for defending this practice, how about some transparency. Cloaking the practice of sealing in secrecy makes for a sinister impression.
