I understand the premise, but why?

That's like saying, "There's no Santa, so beat your little sister up because you'll get presents anyway..." or something to that effect.

I don't know why people take it upon themselves to try and convince people one way or the other when it comes to religion.

Are they saying that there's no Buddha, Allah, God, etc, or just the Christian God?

They aren't trying to convince people there is no God, they are just telling them not to worry and enjoy their lives.

Why not just say, "Life is good, go enjoy it while you have it!"?

Using the words "probably" and "no", its clear that the intention is to negate the probability of whatever is being said.

There's probably no milk in the fridge, but go look anyways...

As an atheist I can tell you we beleive all of them are the same.And while beleive in things like santa is fine for children the analogy to adults and religion does not work IMO.If you think religious belief stops immoral acts such as violence history does not support that.It's a dangerous proposition in the minds of most atheists to give power to in our opinion beleif systems which have no basis in reality or fact.And since religions have no reservations about trying to promote their views I see no reason why atheists should not try to spread what their view.God will not save us or our planet, only we can do that and anything that denys that is as I said dangerous in my opinion.
 
I'd say your beliefs are very similar to those of the Romans. To them, any newly conquered people's gods were just different versions of theirs.

Religion doesn't stop the perpetration of immoral acts. Those are allowed by man, it is the different religions (for the most part) that say peace is better. However, as we can see in today's world, the Islamic faith is having a very similar episode that the Christian faith had about 1000 years ago (with the crusades). There are a lot of reasons the crusades happened, one of the biggest being indulgences.

NO Humanism doesn’t believe in any God. All faiths are allowed to advertise so why not Humanism?

Humanism doesnt believe in any form of God. That is different to saying Humanism doesn't believe in anything. Humanism believes in human reason & ethics. HUMANism.

I agree that some may focus on the Christian god which is unfair, but it is historically the most influential faith in the western world.

As I said I as an atheist think they are all equal in validiity. I personally do not think most wars or conflicts were soley from a religious belief now or in the past.This idea that muslims are violent because their muslims is just too simplistic.These people would have grievences even if they were atheists.But lets not try to re-write history eithier here.Muslims are really amateurs when it comes to wars violence and killing to members of other religions such as christianty,and I'm not talking a thousand years ago.Just look at the 20th century with 2 world wars with deaths in the 10s to 100s of millions.Wasn't muslims that perpetrated such.Who created WMDs? lol

I’m an atheist but even I know that both world wars were not started due to religion! The assassination of archduke Ferdinand kick-started WW1. Yes WW2 Germany created the holocaust which did have a religious element & the idea of German supremacy was linked to an Aryan ideal that had a religious theme but I don’t see it as the main reason for the war. WW2 was a war against fascism which was not a religious doctrine.

I didn't say that they did such things because they were christians.I was just pointing out that the countries and people involved which for the most part came from a religious background of christianity still did those things.My main point was to refute this idea that muslims are engaged in violence or terrorism based on a muslim crusade or more violent than other members of other religions.As I said even if they had no religion they would still have grievence issues with the west and Israel.Religion is just a tool society's use in conjuction with other things to promote the idea of they are right and others are wrong.Something that just divides humanity.Not that they cause wars in and of themselves but they sure haven't prevented such and have led to things to such divisions and biases throughout history that makes the situation fertile for more violence.As you mentioned the holocaust is one such case but that violence against members of the jewish faith as an example goes way back.If christians really are beyond such things now as has been intimated why does the US which is still a predominatly christian nation spend more on military hardware them most of the world put together.We invade countries on the flimisiest of reasons using our military.We have little moral highground to be denouncing use of force in the world especially after the last 8 years.

I do believe in a Creator. Because without that belief this would not work.
The documents that over rule the "Supreme" Court.

I also believe in the right to do as we wish and free will. No one can force you to do anything.
