Not at all, I am the babies daddy of a few kids.
My bitch collects money from these kids.
Free food, free cash, reduced utilty bills, we pay $200.000 for rent while the
other folks in the same building pay 1,200.000 per month.
We get free medical too.
Plus we get a tax gift of about 3 grand per year, They call it a refund but its actually just free money......but I piss most of that away on clothes, jewelry (I like shiny things) and video games.

No, I'm not worrying at all.

Nope. It runs in cycles and this is just one of them.

Longer term, yes. I think the global economy may have entered a new era. And I think the U.S. is going to be on the short end of the stick this time. With each bubble & bust cycle, we seem to get a little bit further behind... and a lot deeper in debt. It's been going on for about the past 20 years, but I don't think we're going to have the ability to borrow at this rate for much longer. Especially with us continuing to lose our manufacturing base.

I don't see how even Supply Side theory would/could move us forward now from where we are now. It takes several quarters before the benefits of S.S. theory (or most any fiscal policy) are seen in terms of growth. And it's a given that when taxes are cut at the margin (deeply enough to produce future growth), government revenues fall in the short term. So there's a further (guaranteed) increase in the deficit that has to be financed somehow. Then you throw in the current accounts shortfall, because of our piss poor/"bend over and take it" trade policies, and that also adds to the deficit.

I'm certainly not one of these doom & gloom/Chicken Little types. But I'm frustrated that neither party seems to have a long term economic plan for this nation, especially when it comes to the loss of the manufacturing base.

Personally I am not worried about it. I had a great past year and I have no reason to believe this coming year will not be any better for me. :hatsoff:

Yes, I worry about the economy especially when NeoCons are running things from the White House becoz that's when you can count on shit hitting the fan. I know a few people who have been laid off and more to be laid off soon :(

Greece burns -- Portugal, Spain and the rest of Club Med cross their fingers :D

Mayday, Mayday! Crippled Greece to receive massive bail-out from European powers
ATHENS
May 2, 2010

GREEK anti-riot police fired tear gas at youths protesting in Athens yesterday as a trade union march marking May Day passed in front of the finance ministry.

Clashes erupted when several dozen youths, some armed with sticks, charged at a line of anti-riot forces protecting the ministry, prompting police to respond with tear gas. The youths then dispersed.

Thousands of other protesters used traditional May Day celebrations in central Athens to demonstrate against unprecedented austerity cuts the government is negotiating with the European Union and International Monetary Fund.

French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde said in Paris a rescue package for debt-laden Greece was expected to total between €100 billion and €120 billion ($143 billion and $171 billion).

^Good luck with that!

It doesn't matter to me anymore, the world will end in 2 years anyway. I just hope I have enough money for the kick ass end-of-the-world party. It's gonna be booze, bitches, and then bye bye.

Just put it on your charge card. With the world ending, it's not like you'll have to pay it back anyway, right? :dunno:

I think gas will be heading to $4.00/gallon nationwide again soon...

Obama has let the douchebag GOP run his agenda this past year. He is on the defensive on every issue instead of being able to lead and be on the offensive, so that when things like the oil spill tragedy, gas price at the pump hit..he's not having to go defend himself. :(

The economy is slowly turning around, but if gas prices hit $4, any growth in the economy will be lost...

So even when the GOP has no power, it's their fault. This ranks up there with Obama taking on Fox News head-on.

Instead of doing things, people try to deflect it on the minority that isn't in power at all. Sorry, but that's a pathetic argument.

And one of the saddest things about this administration, and its followers, that they're still trying to blame the GOP for things. Instead of actually doing.

I was honestly hopeful for the Obama administration. I was hoping they'd transcend the GOP and reach the American people. Instead, they've just kept the rhetoric up.

That's no more leadership than the GOP prior, both are pathetic. And Obama is completely out-of-touch with everyone, from common African-Americans to the Small Business Owners.

We're now just fucked more than we were already before.

The fact remains that the Senate is an archaic institution that serves no use except to clog the gov't.

Obama has said "send me a bill and I will sign it" instead of "Here's the bill I want you to PASS"

I'm not giving up on him. Whenever something disappoints me about Obama I quickly think but atleast it's not McCain/Palin in the White House.

Do we really need the "Drill, Baby, Drill" girl giving a speech in LA at this time?

Obama needs to become the Progressive he campaigned as and stop letting the GOP usurp the issues. The Dems in Congress aren't helping him either.

Hail Caesar!

Hail Caesar! Seriously, I couldn't read that without literally thinking that. The Senate is an institution that still serves the same purpose it was founded upon.

People think things were different in 1790. They were not. Nothing has changed. The same realities exist today. But if people don't read, they don't know such. They no nothing of the same debates held then, which are 1:1 to today's.

I'm not giving up on him. Whenever something disappoints me about Obama I quickly think but atleast it's not McCain/Palin in the White House.
It's that type of thinking that keeps the Democrats and Republicans in control, justifying one party by looking at the other. Sorry.

Obama needs to become the Progressive he campaigned as and stop letting the GOP usurp the issues. The Dems in Congress aren't helping him either.
Or Obama is just out-of-touch with reality. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

Cancer is an expensive prospect for Americans....
US cancer costs double in nearly 20 years

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100510/ap_on_he_me/us_med_cancer_costs
"The researchers also found that private insurers now cover a greater share of cancer treatment costs — about 50 percent — while patients' out-of-pocket costs have fallen over the past two decades."

The problem with people looking at the US from the outside is that they don't see all of the things American insurance companies cover, and Americans can have done without waiting lists, at little cost. And inside the US, too many Americans have such short memories that they have no comprehension of what advances have been made in the last few decades.

All because we have private practice and research. We want it all, for free, without realizing what we have, just demanding people pay more, for more techniques, which many places in the world have never even heard of.
