Any UFC fans present?

Yes, add a couple extra rounds. When boxing had 15 rounds.. Altho someone could get hurt.

Totally different sport. yes boxing gets pounded in the head a bunch, but the head isn't hitting the ground over and over, the head isn't hitting the cage over and over. And even though a submission isn't fully put on every attempt, it would be bad for the bones, joints, and legiments to be attempted against one over 5 rounds.

Watching The Ultimate Fighter these past weeks I am starting to not hate Rashard Evans. He is actually a weel rounded guy. He is down to earth to his guys, he is a work a holic, he actually has some brains in his head(unlike Rampage), he uses his cockiness correctly, and he can fight.

Rampage on the other hand,,,horrible temper, a little lazy, typical street attitude from Memphis, but by God is Manny can be Manny Rampage can be Rampage. Still enjoy the character

I agree with you on Rampage. But Rashad, I hated him on the Ultimate Fighter 2 for his showboating at first, but Matt Hughes turned him around later in the season, so then it was all good.

Rampage is a horrible, and annoying coach.

I really think Couture / Vera might have been fixed. I know judging can be bad, like the Machida/Shogun fight...

From what I saw, Couture won the first round, Vera the third, and the second was just about a tie. Remember too it was a split decision, could have easily gone the other way with just one point from one judge. Some fights are incredibly difficult to call.

And with the Machida fight, try watching it again with the sound off. Without the crowd noise and the Shogun-biased commentary, you will have a completely different view of the whole thing. Where the commentators saw a great Shogun punch, I saw him hit air while Machida landed a solid kick. I was surprised, but also pleased at what I considered a fair technical decision. :wave2:

Who would you rather BANG- Tito's wife or Brock Lesner wife?

I'll take Sable any day. Jenna Jameson looks like some sort of alien creature nowadays.

The second round was a tie?? Is that not the round Couture got leg kicked in his ribs and fell to his knees wincing in pain? Is that not the round he was cut open? 2 rounds easily went to Vera, the other being the 3rd. The 1st round should have been scored 9-9. Couture did nothing to earn a victory. Absolutely nothing.

I have to agree with STDiva 100%. IMO Couture did nothing but kill time against the cage, he may have gotten in some good punches via dirty boxing while up against the cage. but Vera hurt Couture on numerous occasions. on the otherhand, not once did I see Vera in trouble, hurt, or in jeopardy of even losing a round. I seriously :dunno: :wtf: the judges were watching, seeing or for that matter judging.:rolleyes::cussing::2 cents:

I honestly turned off the TV at the end of the 3rd round because i thought it was so obvious that Vera won... but then again, I also thought Forrest kicked Tito's ass the first time.... word to the wise fighter... dont leave it in the judges hands

Yes. It was the same round in which Vera delivered a low kick and a poke to the eye. It was also the round in which Randy gave some big knees and later, hard face punches. The same round where Vera got caught in a full close guard and coudn't move. The round in which Vera got clinched and forced against the cage several times, from which he didn't escape. One big move may end a fight, but it won't win a points battle against someone who keeps coming back. :wave2:

Cool. its all good. I am a fan of Randy Couture's also. but he's 46 yrs old. he is no longer in his prime. I think R. Couture got the decision based on his reptution & respect alone.

There is nobody in there right mind, IMO that thinks based on what (WE THE PEOPLE) who watched and saw that fight, could or would honestly say Couture won the fight or even deserved to win that fight.

Although I am a fan of Randy's. IMO its seriously time for him to retire, cuz I think Vera could do some serious damage in the UFC if he is given a fair shot. :2 cents::hatsoff:

Those "dances" are signs of respect to their style. It's not to be taken personally. I found Vera being robbed aswell though I'd rather see a dance instead of smack talk. Randy is amazing to still be able to fight younger fighters but it's not really fair for him to stay their preventing a deserving fighter from rising. He is running short on time in MMA but it's not fair to manipulate the rise of younger stars. :2 cents:

So what did everybody think of the Ortiz vs. Griffin rematch? I wish it didn't have to go to decision, but it was still a pretty good fight. I'm a fan of both fighters but Griffin really needed to win that fight more than Ortiz did.

In other mma news I'm reading the January 2010 issue of Ultimate MMA magazine and on page 103 Don Frye says that he would beat Fedor, what's up with that?

Well, Don Frye is hitting the pipe alittle too hard. Anyways, Forrest did a great job and was crisp with his strikes and could've gotten a TKO but I think once 3rd round came, he wanted to be careful in knowing he already won. Tito is full of excuses for any loss and though he was top dog, that's not enough for my respect. Rumble and Koscheck's fight was terrible and I hope they have a rematch.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
I forgot all about the Griffin/Ortiz match until I got online this early Monday morning. I am glad my dude griffin won, & if Dana White & Tito Ortiz were not such bitter rivals, I bet Tito Ortiz would have won by decision.:2 cents:

That said I am still pissed @ the Vera/Couture debacle. it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth to sit there & watch a guy thoroughly beat his opponent & then actually lose by unanimous decision. :dunno::eek::cussing:

White and the UFC have nothing to do with the decisions... That would be up to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
So I was waiting for my show "SOA" to air tonight & I was watching WEC in the meantime & I saw Mike Brown defend his championship belt against Jose Aldo. :uohs:

Well I will just say this Jose Aldo is a badA$$ he beat Mike Brown pretty easily, Mike Brown can throw some serious leather, but this Jose Aldo is a phenom, he has super speed, lighting quick  & super mad striking power. I would like to see Jose Aldo invade the UFC... of course that would be in the 145 weight division...so who's in the 145 division? :dunno:

On another front I am gonna be SERIOUSLY CONFLICTED on 12/12/09 I don't know if everybodies been lurking ahead to see upcoming events, but I just found out about the SANCHEZ VS. PENN fight, & for anybody that knows me well, knows DIEGO "THE NIGHTMARE" SANCHEZ is definitely 1 of my favorite UFC fighters, I'd say "RAMPAGE" Jackson & "NIGHTMARE" Sanchez are my favorite UFC fighters that being said, BJ Penn is also one of my favorites, although I will be conflicted to see Sanchez/Penn fighting I will be pulling for Sanchez. :2 cents::glugglug:

UFC does not have a 145 weight class... their lightest is lightweight (155lbs, current champ BJ Penn)

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
the wec is the ufc's little brother and hosts the belts that have not been popular in the ufc. less money, but good competition

I'm not a fan but Diego and BJ are great on stand up and ju-jitsu so it'll be very exciting. I'm really excited for the TUF finale.

Fuuuuuuuck! I was dreading Marcus' stand up aswell as Brendan making it to the finale THROUGH Marcus and that's what we got. I atleast wanted Marcus to take on Roy. Anyway, Kimbo and Houston, Marcus and Matt, and Brendan and Roy should be exciting. Bones and Hammill should be pretty good with a very fast and creative striker vs a strong wrestler and striker. Pretty good birthday coming.

BJ Penn is the greatest in his respective weight class. I know he can't handle GSP but totally different weight class and GSP is possibly the greatest in the UFC. He made Nightmare Sanchez look as if he had been in a bad car wreck. Great standup by BJ, great takedown defense and you know he is one of the best BJJ artist around and didn't even have to use it. Joe Rogan mentioned that the great Freddie Roach said BJ Penn had the best boxing in UFC. Impressive compliment.

And Frank Mir was a beast against Kongo. I'm proud of Mir. Great individual although I was glad when Brock beat him.

I just don't see anyone beating Penn for a while in his class.

In my opinion I think right now the titles are in the right hands of the right opponents. Some of the greatest hold titles. The heavyweights are kinda not up to par and I don't think Brock is one of the greatest but he is pretty dominant. You can put in a good arguement that Penn, GSP, Lyoto, and Anderson Silva deserve to be called some of the greatest.
