Any UFC fans present?

I used to like to watch Ultimate Fighter on Spike, so I tend to like the fighters from that show like Josh Koscheck, Diego Sanchez, Forrest Griffin, and Rashad Evans. Basically, I root for any of the TUF fighters whenever I see them fight. I have never paid for a pay-per-view event yet, so I see the fights on SPIKE waaay after-the-fact.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Most Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings show the PPVs for free. Just get there a little early and make sure you spend about $50 so the servers make money. Nothing pisses a server off more than working a table for four hours and getting a $5 tip. Trust me, they remember. Not that i was cheap but I know a few servers.

No need to worry bout that... 1 of my friends alone would put the bill @ or over $50 within the 20 minutes of arriving. if not sooner. along with a couple of pitchers of beer he enjoys double shots of petrone.

Its not unusual for my usual friends that go hangout and drink to spend like $350 in an about 2 hours. thats 3 or 4 people most of the time.. I don't know if thats considered allot for our size party and our bill, but its always amazing to me. :glugglug: :D :partysml:

Haha, it's free in Britain. Well, you have to subscribe to the channel that shows it, but I get that anyway for Baseball and Hockey, and it's still less than you pay for one PPV.

Who's that Brazilian, I think, he's now 14-0 and uses mainly Karate? He should be good for the future, shame he's not big enough to go for the main belt. Goes to show what an amazing skill Karate can be. Notice how he always stands up straight, his head is so far back that punches can't reach him.

Anyone else a bit peeved with the refs' performances in the last couple of PPV's? They seemed to be jumping in too early in several matches, except in the one where he separated them and then let the fight continue when the guy was clearly out on his feet, what was that all about?

Other than that, I'll just say I'm a Lesnar fan, looking forward to the big summer brawl. Hope it lasts longer than the last one. :D :wave2:

This is an awesome thread. I found my second favorite passion(MMA) on a board of my favorite passion(porn). Sounds like a conversation that comes up in Tito Ortiz's house.

Man I hate fighters that talk trash. They forget that it is MARTIAL ARTS. I am 32 years old and have been doing traditional karate since I was 5. I did it religiously from 5 yrs old until I finished high school and still do it for a few months here and there. After the Gracie's introduced UFC to the world I became amazed by the ground skills Brizilian JuJitsu offered. I also wrestled in high school so I had some ground game but nothing with submissions. However back in the early 90's it was hard to find a BJJ school in my area. I took up Judo to learn more fighting skills. I joined the Coast Guard when I was 21 and I was part of the USCG boxing team and also did a little military tae kwon do. I injured my back twice. Once in a car accident and again in a street fight when someone tried to rob me. I started doing a little MMA fighting about two years ago. I have a 5-2 record. I doubt I will ever make it big but I can dream right? We mostly do fights at nightclubs, armory's, and high school gyms. I have slacked off a little but am concentrating on Judo and TKD. I have earned my orange belt in TKD, Green in Judo, and am about to get my blue belt in BJJ. One thing I do hate about some fighters in my ranks (besides trash talkers) are guys who are street punks and want to join a club but not have any true martial arts backgrounds. My coach has a requirement of at least two years experience in a martial art and at least one promotional belt to prove dedication(a note of recomadition(sp?) from a coach in fighting styles such as Muay Thai, wrestling, boxing, etc that states they have shown two years of worthy expereince) and keeps punks away from learning deadly skills to use where it does not need to be used.

Through all of my accomplishments my main claim to fame is in high school wrestling. One time I was in the same weight class as Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. He went to Raleigh Egypt High School and I went to Kirby High School in Memphis,TN. I beat him in my one time match against him. Our team captain whose place I took NEVER beat Quinton. Back then we nicknamed him Spitting Quintion. He had a bad drewling problem on the mat.

Since he is a hometown dude I guess I am a Rampage fan.

I also like...
GSP- I don't see why you all say he is arrogant. He is a very humble guy IMO.
BJ Penn- However I don't like his latest crying
Sean Sherk
Brock Lesner
Forrest Griffin
Lyoto Machida
Pitbull
Yoshida- can't remember his full name but he is a awesome judoka
Jake Shields(should be in the UFC)
Tito Ortiz(Dana is being a prick not letting him in the UFC)

My #1 favorite is Dan Henderson

I would love to see a GSP versus Anderson Silva fight. They call AS the pound for pound king but I think GSP deserves that title as well.

^^^HeyFellas^^^ you are talking about Lyoto Machida. The karate guy from Brazil. They bill him as a "karate guy" but dude has many more mad skills. He started BJJ at age 15 and Sumo at age 12. He also took up Muay Thai when he started college. He is getting his title shot against Rashard Evans. I hope he beats the total shit out of Evans. Rashard is one of those mouth running assholes.

My 11 year old son is starting MMA classes when baseball season is over. He is a judoka orange belt and a TKD orange belt. He loves combat sports. My 9 year old is a yellow in both TKD and Judo but he seems to shy away from harsh contact. And I'm not one of those parents who pushes their kids to do things they don't like. So I'm not pushing him to do MMA. However he will do some type of martial art for self defense purposes. We live in a safe neighborhood and they attend a safe school but here in Memphis we are surrounded by bad neighborhoods.

Those that are dissing WWE and TNA. All I say is try it for a month and you will see that those "actors" have to be true warriors and athletes.

As for those who think boxing is better than MMA...PLEASE. I respect boxing but it is so one dimensional. I took second place last month at one of those Toughman contest. After doing MMA I get so fustrated not being able to kick or takedown when I'm put in a clinch. The champion of the contest told me afterwards he knows I could kill him in a real fight but said he just had enough boxing experience to do what it took. Also look at how wrestlers, Muay Thai, BJJ, Karate, TKD, guys learn another skill and move along good in MMA. You don't see many great boxers do that. I would love to see Mike Tyson try out MMA.

To those talking about college football. Buckeye and Sooner fan- GO GATORS!!!
Michigan fan- I can't say much, yall got us the last two bowl games against each other.

Amyway sorry to post so much but I love MMA. You also see how porn girls like Jenna Jameson, Brittney Skye, Brianna Banks, and Gina Lynn have their hand in on the business.

As for chick MMA. I don't think they should be in the UFC but I would pay so see a match between hotties like Gina Carano and Felice "lil Bulldog" Herrig fight it out.

I guess You've got some fight in you. well that cool. I love MMA, I like boxing, but since its had all of its drama, and MMA has gotten so big, boxing is in the rearview mirror, if their is a big fight I may watch it if its free, but I will just check to see who won and watch sportscenter or online if I wanna get xtra info.

I have to disagree with you about GSP though, I think he is definitely the arrogant A.Hole. He showed B.J. Penn nor Matt Hughes any respect, infact he said something sarcastic right after somebody fought and he was talking :bs: B.J. Penn on the otherhand, IMO is a classy guy, S. Sherk did cheat, he got caught using steriods and he prolly did do what B.J. and the others suspect him of doing.

I don't like rashaad evans he's from my hometown. Detroit,Mi and I don't like him cuz he talks shit. I do think I would have to say Quintin "rampage" Jackson is my favorite MMA fighter. albeit I do like many of them.

I do like WWE a bit wrestling is alright, I mean the high flying moves and the power slam stuff looks pretty real, but the punches, hitting, kicking, most of the leverage holds, chokes, and moves that if applied right or for real would really hurt, subdue an opponent if they were really applied, so that aspect of wrestling I still contend is FAKE and thats just the reality of it. but I do like watching sometimes, I am not a total fiend of it, but I watch it on ocasion.

As for college sports GO BLUE, ITS ALL BOUT THE WOLVERINES, SO I SAY FUCK the SUCKEYE's and every other bigten schools, all day everyday!:D:2 cents::hatsoff:

Yeah WWE is fake and I'm not crazy about it. My kids love that stuff. I do hear people talk crap about wrestlers(WWE style not Roman Geco style) and say they are pussies who fake. I bet they wouldn't say that stuff to Scott Steiner, Kurt Angle, or Booker T. Look at how real Brock Lesner is when it comes to fighting.

I bet if UFC and MMA would've came out in Rick Steiners early days he would've made a hell of a fighter. He is a former Wolverine wrestler and I watched some old college wrestling tapes on him and dude was a beast.

I miss Michigan being good in football. I hate the Suckeyes. I hope UM gets back to beating those punks.

with the WWE a lot of the characters are real wrestlers cuz, until MMA, there was no long term career plan for amateur wrestlers (well at least as long term as any fighters career can be) and Fedor Emelianenko is like no fighter i've seen both in his ability to bring the submissions and striking and in his ability to take damage

This past weekend UFC PPV was not that all impressive. Iceman is OVER! and Anderson Silva looks as if he is protecting his title instead of defending it. I still think GSP is the best "pound for pound" fighter and Silva is a notch behind him. His past two fights have been subpar at best. He needs a different weight class. Move up to the 205 class and take on some of those heavy hitters like Forrest, Rampage, and Rashard. Silva versus Dan Henderson rematch in the 205 class would also be a good fight.

Rampage has jaw and hand issues so with the quick turnaround from his last fight to the May scheduling he wont be able to fight.

since forrest griffin continues to fight with an arm that was broken and never set i have little respect for rampage's excuses...but i'd curl up into the fetal position and hope he didn't kill me in a fight so....:dunno: :D

I disagree here, I think that GSP has grown as a person and IMO it has been fun to watch. He was immature and maybe young and arrogant when he first fought Hughes the first time and it showed, he came back and beat him and was humble and classy about it. He showed HUGE heart in the first fight with BJ coming back to win on the cards after taking that beating in round one... never complained about the poke in the eye that set up all that damage that BJ did... I think that GSP again got a bit full of himself when he was set to fight Matt Sera and lost... but ever since that fight i think he is one of the most humble fighters in the UFC .. in the second meeting with BJ he DESTROYED Penn, greasgate is a joke and just a spoiled rich kids attempt to keep his pride... BJ talked ALOT and didnt back it up at all... he basically tapped to strikes and by his own words that makes him a bitch.

I believe it is up to the challenger to go take the belt... Thales didnt and looked like a little bitch.. Anderson is a tactician and followed his game plan, why would you jump on top of arguably the best BJJ practitioner in the UFC 185 weight class? just doesnt make sense, I though Anderson fought a smart fight.

Chuck had a great career. Nothng but props to him. the guy I love to watch fight, even though he will probably never win a belt is Clay Guida. Exciting fights and he is like the Tasmanian Devil in the ring.

How about this for a fight...Anderson Silva vs. GSP at 185

i saw tank abbott get destroyed in elitexc by kimbo slice, of all people, about a year ago, but back in the day he was good times :D at this point i think abbott stands at 10 wins and 14 losses

I kinda got into the whole MMA thing because of Chuck Liddell, because he was a great fighter then and a cool dude all around. But there will come a point in a career where it's time to call it quits, and like some other great sports personalities, he totally missed that point. And hopefully he sees it now.

With him gone I have no real favorite fighter, at least in the UFC, but I have to admit to have been caught up in the Fedor hype and his two fights with Affliction just proved that hype, even though one might argue that Sylvia was canon fodder (even as a former UFC champ). But I don't care if he comes to the UFC or not, I'll watch him fight, no matter where.

Even though there's noone really to cheer for in the UFC right now, there's always people to hate, and GSP is on the top of my list. I just hate everything Montreal, I can't help it. And seeing him walking in the Octagon in a Habs shirt did it for me.

fuck this new shit im OG fan of the old UFC Tank Abbott bitchs
you like the old days when it was one dimensional fighters fighting each other. Like "Karate Guy" vs"Sumo" guy or "BJJ" champ vs "Tae Kwon Do" oplymian. Don't get me wrong, those guys paved the way but it's a new day. It's true MIXED martial arts.
