American gymnastics Dr sentenced. "I signed your death warrant"

Judge Rosemarie Aquilina, who had opened her courtroom to all the young women who wanted to address Dr. Nassar directly, and forced him to listen when he pleaded to make it stop, handed down the sentence, saying to him, “You’ve done nothing to deserve to walk outside a prison again.”

“It is my honor and privilege to sentence you,” she said, and noting the length of the sentence, added, “I just signed your death warrant.”

Although I'm glad that son of a bitch is gonna rott in jail 'till he dies I think the juge shouldn't have said that.

A judge is there to do Justice, he's supposed to be neutral and unbiased, he's not supposed to enjoy condemning people

Judge is female. I found it to be a bold statement as well. I enjoy it but at same time I agree with you Johan

This.

Judges showboat all of the time.

However, the defense team are overjoyed because they now have grounds for a retrial if they want it.

I doubt it he Also has this:

"He had already been sentenced to 60 years in federal prison for child pornography convictions."

Retired gymnast Mattie Larson said she once tried to give herself a concussion to avoid the toxic environment at one of the national gymnastics team's training camps.

"I said to myself there is no way I am stepping foot there this week," Larson said during an interview Thursday on "Good Morning America," recalling the time when she was about 15 or 16 and pretended to slip and fall in her family's bathroom. She splashed water on the floor and purposely slammed her head in a desperate attempt to avoid being sent back to Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas, a national training site for U.S. Olympic gymnasts where Larry Nassar, the former USA Gymnastics team doctor, allegedly preyed on his victims.

Yeah I was about to post that, Rane. That'd be tough to fsce and be able to remain calm. Hopefully the father gets a letter from the prison regarding Nassar's inevitable prison yard murder.

Conspiracy...
Judges shouldn't be allowed to act like this.

They are supposed to be impartial and not get emotionally involved in any case.

Have they shown any evidence in this case?

If he's guilty, others did cover for him and probably others. Why aren't they being arrested as well?

There's literally hundreds of victims that have come forward, some of them were just little girls at the time and while it's true judges are supposed to be impartial, we're all human (well most of us) and it's hard to stay detached.

Anyway it looks like some heads will roll, eventually, in the Gymnastics Administration etcetera.

Former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar was sentenced Monday to another 40 to 125 years in prison by a Michigan judge who said she didn't believe his claim of remorse.

Nassar, who is accused of molesting 265 girls and women over two decades under the guise of medical treatment, delivered a monotone apology in Eaton County Court, saying the victim impact statements he heard over nine days of hearings "impacted me to my innermost core."

But Judge Janice Cunningham revealed that just days before, during a jailhouse pre-sentencing interview, Nassar said his admission during plea hearings that his invasive bare-handed pelvic procedures had no legitimate purpose was inaccurate.

"I am not convinced that you truly understand that what you did was wrong and the devastating impact that you have had on the victims, families and friends," the judge said. "Clearly you are in denial, you don't get it, and I do not believe there is a likelihood you could be reformed."

Too bad can't just death penalty and erase his life from the planet. Or let that father have five minutes.

At the sentencing hearing for Larry Nassar, 156 women vented at the once-respected doctor they say molested them. But there was just as much anger for the institutions where he worked, Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics, which are accused in lawsuits of ignoring two decades worth of opportunities to stop abuse.

"This could have stopped in 1997," one accuser said.

With the U.S. Olympic Committee and the Michigan Attorney General launching independent investigations, more details about who knew what and when could come out in the future.
