Making this thread a little later then I wanted to, having already missed Dakar, the Daytona 24 and the start of the WRC season. However, the Bathurst 12 Hour competition takes place this weekend...
So I take it that the answer to my question is "Yes"?
American Muscle and German Engineering, that was the philosophy of Bavarian Lamborghini specialist Reiter Engineering when it created its SaReNi division to develop a GT3-version of the Chevrolet Camaro. The American *****, which sports a massive 7.9 litre V8 engine, has been thoroughly tested by the team’s regular squad of drivers: Peter Kox, Tomas Enge, Albert von Thurn und Taxis and Stefan Rosina. General Motors works driver Oliver Gavin also had a go in the machine, to further advance its competitiveness.
That's alright. Here in Australia, I'd say the B12h is now the biggest race in the local scene. It may not have the commercial/mainstream clout of the Bathurst 1000/V8 Supercars. However, amongst hardened fans, it has become the favoured event. By it's nature, it is in effect an old 1000. Which is why I think it has become popular. Whereas nowadays, the 1000 has become a longer sprint race.Sorry about that, the answer indeed is yes.
