Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this shit happens in our prisions everyday in America and people are worried becasue its the military doing this aganist people that are trying to kill them. Trust me everytime you detained someone you would always throw a little elbow in thier face or back or just rough them up enough for people to think there was a struggle.
How lame. I'm not buying that. Heard and read far too much from soldiers who were there (Iraq, Afghanistan) to think that:
a) Everyone in Abu Ghraib (or the other prisons for that matter) was trying to kill Americans, be it via terrorism (absolutely unacceptable) or even on the battlefield (well, that's morally complex - if Iraq invaded the U.S. on a bogus pretense, I think those fighting back would be called freedom fighters, no?)
b) The allegations are merely about "a little elbow in thier [sic] face or back."
Your claim also lacks sense. If these people were actually trying to kill American soldiers, then it would have been legitimate (within the logic and rules of the war) to fire at them, to kill them. Are you saying that these prisoners were KNOWN to be making IEDs, or were seen with weapons pointing in the general direction of U.S. troops??? If so, why weren't they shot? It's because, as so many soldiers have testified, many to most of these prisoners were NOT "high-value detainees" with known terrorist records, or any info. to provide at all, and many of these prisoners were also not combatants. If someone had tried to kill me on the battlefield, I would have fired at them until they were horizontal and dead. I wouldn't merely give them a "little elbow"!
(Yes, I saw that you typed some "Operation Iraqi Freedom" credentials for your signature, but anyone could do that, and it doesn't automatically make you right in any discussion of those issues. There could be a wide range of reasons why you are here trying to minimize the significance of torture and sex crimes at Abu Ghraib, a la Limbaugh.)
Also, I don't think that it's a good idea to base operations of a foreign-based war prison on what's right or wrong in our domestic, criminal prisons. Plenty of prisons also offer prisoners basketball courts, weight rooms and TVs, as well as various educational courses, etc. As much as I want prisons to be humane places, I don't think such things would be a good idea in war prisons.
Finally, prison rape is not a mode of justice. If you get wrongly sent to prison, you should simply fear the complete lack of freedom, not being anally raped. And even if you are sent up for an actual crime committed, I don't think it's right for the state to turn a blind eye to your fellow prisoners becoming "agents of state justice" (however perverse and itself sick and criminal) by anally raping you.
