A Punch to the Face...a Venting Thread!

I make my dog answer the phone. At least you and I don't have to deal with them, then, eh?

I've telemarketed before, countless hours worth. I always appreciated when people woudl hang up, yell, get off the phone quickily. Never talked to a dog before but as long as they didn't talk long that'd be fine.

If you really want to screw with them, talk them for as long as they'll stay on the line, then don't buy. That's the worst.

But remember, these people are just trying to make a living too.

That's how some of us make a living. To be honest, I've never understood the hatred for the telemarketer. They're just trying to earn a living. If you don't want to talk then don't answer or the phone, or just hang up. I personally have my wife or ******** answer the phone at all times.

I do but they now took me hanging up as I can't talk at the moment and ring later.In fact one actually rung back say 'we must have been cut off' told her we hadn't that I hung up again.Guess what rung again to tell me it had happened again.Did something I never do and told her to f..koff in the end.
There's another who ring's every saturday and every week I tell him I'm not intrested.The other week I got feed up totally and asked where he was based he asked why so I told him so I could visit him and break his jaw so he couldn't phone me next week.

I share the same feelings. Even though some of these people are trying to make a living...there are better ways of advertising. :thefinger

Actually, there's almost no better way of advertising, cost/sale that is by far the best method. At least in the mortgage business.

It doesn't do much good when the average person is annoyed and aggravated by such callers. And having these people call disuades me from buying/using/or thinking about what there trying to sell me on.

Hey, I used to be a telemarketer. That can be a very tough job. Some firms monitor your calls and critique your every word - it can REALLY suck.

Honestly, they are extremely effective. We built a regional mortgage company with 21 office, 200 employees and over a million in revenue monthly and our sole advertising was telemarketing. Cost vs profit it's a very effective way to market your business.

But it shouldn't be that big of a deal. If you dont' want to talk them, just don't. How hard is it to hang up the phone? Not trying to be smart, just curious why people get so upset.

IMO people generally are upset because they feel that talking to these people is a waste of time. Even though a person may have the time they choose not to occupy it listening to someone babble on about something that may or may not be of relative interest.

But that's my point, you don't have to listen. You just hang up, or don't answer the phone. That's why caller ID rocks!

Its still a small annoyance that can get on a lot of peoples nerves.

One more thing.

I'd use any excuse I could to rob major conglomerates. I don't feel even slightly bad about that. Never have, never will.

I assume that you mean because they are greedy and rob people legally every day. But isn't that in a nutshell what Hitler said about the Jews. They controlled all the money and were greedy. I'm not a historian by any means, so I could be wrong. But I thought I remembered reading that somewhere. If so those are eerily similar.

Anyway, all that aside... why bother continuing this when we know we'll never agree on almost anything? What good does it do? If I was bored enough I could go back and pull up 20 posts where you spoke to me in the same angry, accusatory, moralistic tone that you are now. I've done it too, but you have always specifically targeted my posts. Why? Not because you have it in for me (I hope) personally, but because we could not be more different. I don't care what you think of me. Please stop telling the world what you think of me. You think people like me are all that is wrong in the world, I think views like yours are the same... so we will never agree.

Do you agree that this is futile? Please lighten up. I tried to lighten things up twice already and you're not biting. Let's see if it's third time lucky.

I would like to punch in the face anyone who is further to the left than me or further to the right than kbb2stang. That way I will never have to punch anyone in the face. Another joke.

The reason why it seems I target your posts, and foxfilms posts for that matter, is very simple. 1, it's fun you respond back and I get to keep myself occupied at work. 2. You both express views that I disagree with, some of them vehemently. Foxfilm has tried to use this forum to get his views out, I believe, deliberately, not just as posts in a casual thread. He has an agenda of sorts, which is fine. But I want people to see both sides and these forums are a great place for that debate. You generally don't start threads to set an agenda, but you say things that provoke my thought. Like this post. Things that I like to dig deeper into and discuss. And of course sometimes it gets personal, we're talking about our personal belief systems.

Will we ever change each others minds, never. Will we change the world, not here. That doesn't change the fact that wherever I am I'll always be the voice of conservative(NOT REPUBLICAN) thought. I like political and theoretical discussions. If it makes one person think great, if not then at least it makes me think, which is fun. That and my wife isn't the least bit political so this is my outlet for that. It's really the only reason I come to forum.

Punch Hitler, though he was a sadistic leader and ordered the ******* of thousands upon thousands of people I commend is ability to overthrow as much of Europe as he did. It takes someone with at least minimal intellect to do that.
