800-horsepower Mustang on the way

 Like the average driver (American or otherwise) handles themselves behind the wheel well enough or tackles the kinds of terrain for it to make a difference.

The differences some of you are raising is tantamount to the **** that would matter to professional test drivers.

Anything any manufacturer makes nowadays will handle, accelerate and brake more than enough to carry some of you to the mall or Krogers. You're not out tackling Watkins Glen or some Euro countryside.

For the Americans it matters to practically...they're measuring performance in a quarter mile of straight, flat pavement.

If I'm going to buy an expensive near top of the line sporty car that stuff would matter to me just out of principle. By your reasoning I could say there is no reason to by a car like that at all considering an 800hp Mustang has no practical purpose and definitely not one for just going to the grocery store and back. I could understand at least somewhat the thinking behind people buying it just because it's cool, but in that case it might as well be made as well as possible and perform as well as possible considering all factors.

 Mr. Rock, this car is going to handle far better than your wildest imagination. Unless you're accustomed to driving exotic cars that are hundreds of thousands of dollars, you are likely going to exceed your money's worth for an $80K+....($80K+!!!!!) Mustang with a tuner's near top end performance features. Just to get the near basics optioned on a new 400 HP BMW M3 you're looking at about $70K.:2 cents: (For example).

dont bother it will drive and handle like a piece of **** and u try getting that kind of power down on the road in the wet not a chance the tyres will just spin up .will it have carbon ceramic brakes i wonder

Why is everyone all worried about handling? Thats not what a muscle car is about. They are about grabbing the steering wheel, stomping on the gas, smoking the tires and laying rubber 500 yards down the road. Chicks squeel, **** cheer, old folks scowl and the driver sits back with the biggest grin on his face knowing that someone may be faster or more expensive or have more gadgets but they will never be more badass than the guy in his muscle car.

This is from all your experience driving late model American muscle cars we presume.:rolleyes:

I can't rep you enough. :(

The reason why these cars are made is so of us can buy a factory produced hotrod. Can you frankenstein up something yourself with massive horsepower, high end COTS parts and smoke up a neighborhood? Yeah..but at the end of it you have an "All-mine001".

Therefore, when a manufacturer produces a factory hotrod or some renowned tuner puts their expertise into some serialized, limited production hotrod version ..there is an intrinsic value added for this and that's another reason individuals buy these types of cars.

bazza may have a point.
my ****** always bought and sold vettes, he must have gone through 40 or 50 of them and worked on most of them.
the only one he kept was an 86.

but I remember him saying how the 350s were so much better than the 454s.
just too much engine for the body i guess.
then again that was from late 60's , early 70's models.

The New Boss 302 has more than enough power and will be faster around the track, so far faster than the Shelby versions as well.

Ya know, that's probably not only the case, but it's probably lighter, and more fuel efficient....BUT! It still won't have that 4 barrel carb, cast iron V-8 rumble, with a little 4 bolt main torq, to remind you you're driving classic muscle. There is something very special to me, about that. I would also bet my last dollar, that if it didn't have all of that computerized traction stuff, 90% of the people out there couldn't control it....or let the clutch out, and keep it in a straight line.

I was given this Grand Prix GTP that my mechanic put in a CAI, thermostat thingie, bigger exhaust, and something to do with the supercharger...and all that is just to get it somewhere over 300hp. I love that car...I can only imagine 800hp

As a german, I can tell you:

After they developed this car, they could have stopped and just keep on building this.

It's perfect, and hell, it even beat KARR and Goliath!
