The stupid aspect would be I can't get a driver's licence due to a handicap, so it really would just be a car sitting there and get be driven around

Well that's the PERFECT reason to buy a celebrity car, or an exotic super car. You aren't supposed to drive them. Back when I was still employable, I was working tech support for Skank of America and there was an engineer who was a bit socially awkward. The type who tries a little too hard to be liked. Not a bad guy certainly. I'm sure you know the type. Anyway, one day he went to lunch and forgot to lock his laptop. An egregious error in IT so I changed his Jabber status to red to signify Do Not Disturb and read "Severe Diarrhea". Management expressed concern about his status so we know they saw it. When he got back from lunch and took in the situation, he had a panic attack and vomited on another person. I feel badly about that. As recall though he was on the heavy side so that makes it less sad. I feel badly writing that.

I am having some kind of panic attack with accompanying diarrhea and hallucinations involving Mother Teresa and a ski lift.
For whatever reason (drugs), it struck me this evening that the users who work here are probably applying to other jobs and trying to get away. For us, this is something we do for free. I don't want to overstate things but let's not downplay it either. I've been here since 2007. Think of how much your lives have changed since 2007. If this site went out of business and was gone that would be weird for awhile. This must be what people who form human connections feel about bars and and places where they gather. It's a community they're a part of. That must be why they whined about COVID lockdowns so much.
